Square Enix will reveal the 'Future of Final Fantasy' on June 11

In regards to FFXV--Action provides more fluidity and smoothness. Im good here. The story seems like it's there. The graphics are obvious. Can't wait. As long as ff stays true to its unique lore, it's a ff game. Evolution to battle systems has happened in each game. Not sure how this has eluded the few. It's been far too long since the last TB ff game to announce mutiny for SE; over a decade for those that were curious (FFXI just hit 11 years, the first nonTB).

XIII isn't that bad guys. Play the game before you judge it people. And XV, most of you criticize SE as if you can do their job better. Just wait till the games come out THEN you can talk your bullshit

I don't get you people, you criticize Square Enix about the games they make as if you could do better. I for one actually enjoyed XII, obviously my favorite will always be FFX but still XII was quite cool. Lightning returns is gonna be amazing as well and you shouldn't judge it if you haven't played it and FFXV as well.

Where can one watch the "Future of Final Fantasy" press conference? Is it watchable online or is it just a press only thing?

Why don't they stop Lightning Returns and focus on FFXV? I didn't expect Lightning to return in the first place. FFXIII was enough...

Great to see Versus finally come out of the dark. It's unfortunate that it will be PS4 only, but I suppose Suqares ambitions for the game would have been hampered on the PS3 hardware so it's for the best.

After the last few Final Fantasy games, I find it very hard to get excited about this. Unless it's Final Fantasy Versus XIII. Now THAT I cared about.

Future direction of Final Fantasy on June 11th? WOO-HOO! :)

I really liked FF XIII and XIII-2 even though they are way off from the OG Final Fantasy games and far from perfect (awesome combat though). I will get Lightning Returns as I think it looks fantastic! The JRPG selection is dwindling these days so I'm supporting Square Enix with every Final Fantasy game they create in the traditional series (not any Crystal Chronicle stuff, LOL!).

While FF XIII/XIII-2 weren't perfect, they were damn original during this last generation.

What Square Enix really needs to do is to stop using the Final Fantasy title on XIII, its just not a Final Fantasy anymore. Name it something else, because they used the title Final Fantasy, I was hoping for extraordinary world exploration by implementing XII exploration, but no we get a freakin linear game where there is only one road to go.

It looks even worse than the horrible 13-2 ... :(

Honestly, I would like if the company starts to go under, because SE already said, they don't ever plan to remake FF7 unless they can't do any better with a new installment... So I hope they fail! lol

I'd like a new FF game as long as it stays PS4 ONLY. Branching out to all consoles they really lose their way.

I'd like a new FF game. I just really want their story writing to go back down to Earth. Just a tinyyy bit. Yeah, I know it's a JRPG, and grand, epic storytelling is kind of a thing, but you can do that and still get some quality writing in that doesn't seem completely overwrought with symbolism. I didn't actually have any issues with FF13, but I think Square needs to look very carefully at what they've been doing and what they ~could~ do.

Personally I also preferred the less technology-heavy atmosphere of earlier FF's, although FF6 is still my favorite and that is kind of steampunk... But yeah. That would be fantastic. I want this to do so well! *cries*

The future of FF? I know what it is:

- Get Hironobu Sakaguchi back to writing and directing

- Get Nobuo Uematsu back on the score

- Get Yoshitaka Amano back on the character and world design

And while you're at it, get every Squeenix staff to play SNES and PS1-2 FFs (and Chrono Trigger), over and over until they get the clear picture.

Sounds like Versus, I do remember Wada calling Versus that one time, hopefully it is.

Lets see some news on Type-0 and Versus

SE I would gladly buy Type-0 again if you were to localize it

I really think the last game I can remember that really hit that JRPG adventure RPG feel was Lost Odyssey, and that wasn't even a Squeenix product (though, Nobuo Uematsu did the musical score, which was phenomenal). It took a varied enough approach to keep fresh ('ring' combat, accessories showing up on characters in cut scenes, dreams/memories [which were a fantastic part of the plot]) and a unique sense of character and humanization).

The last FF game that I played that actually felt like an FF game was probably X.

FF:XI was great, and hopefully XIV:RR will prove to right the wrongs that were evident at launch.

All in all, it's been way too damned long. Please give us a quality title. We have been waiting for so long.

I enjoyed XIII and XIII-2 but I'm not sure what I'll think about 15 (assuming this is 15). I used to like that slow, monotonous, menu driven combat but all I want to do now is jump in a switch paradigms and let the computer handle picking the painfully obvious stuff.

my little brother was dead before he even play FF versus 13,he's a big fan of this series and yet..

Knowing them how I do, they`ll probably release the same old trailer and say -look forward to TGS-

How about FFXIII Versus release date or go and die ?
