Spring TGS 2001: Capcom reveals Capcom vs. SNK 2
The sequel to Capcom's crossover fighter will contain updated graphical effects and four new characters. Details inside.
TOKYO - Capcom's twice-daily Capcom vs. SNK Pro stage show here at the Spring Tokyo Game Show contained a brief teaser for the company's upcoming sequel, titled Capcom vs. SNK 2: Millionaire Fighting 2001. While only a little bit of footage was shown, and what was shown was partially obscured by a news-show spycam sort of presentation, we've gathered together a few details on the game.
For starters, the game will feature some new graphical effects, including a swirling, almost Dreamcast logo-like effect that came off of Ryu's fist when he went for a dragon punch super combo. The game will feature at least four new fighters. From the SNK side, Athena from King of Fighters and Haohmaru will be added. Capcom's roster will now include Yun from Street Fighter III and Kyosuke of Project Justice. It's assumed that Dan and Joe, recently added to the roster in the yet-to-be-released Capcom vs. SNK Pro, will also remain in the upcoming sequel.
No release date was given for Capcom vs. SNK 2. GameSpot will deliver more information as it becomes available.
