Sony cancels its own preorders for cheap Beyond: Two Souls copies
Sony offering affected customers a $5 eCoupon after pricing error in June saw game being sold for $34.99.
Sony has cancelled preorders for copies of Beyond: Two Souls that were purchased as part of a pricing error on its own site at the end of June.
The game was temporarily on sale for $34.99 at Sony's online store, which is almost a 50 percent saving on the game's traditional price of $59.99. The budget pricing was in error, Sony has confirmed to customers via an e-mail sent to GameSpot.
Sony is offering affected customers a $5 voucher as compensation, adding that the individual codes are "good towards the pre-purchase" of Beyond on the Sony store, which has now returned to its correct price of $59.99.
Beyond: Two Souls, which spans 10 hours, will be released exclusively for the PlayStation 3 on October 8 in North America. For more information on the game, check out GameSpot's recent interview with game director David Cage.
