Resident Evil reboot possible

Open world? Reboot? Hey i have an idea, why u dont make a kart racing RE, with zombies throwing a-b-c-d-e-f-.......w-virus on jills kart! Or a soccer sim, or golf? Or 2-D fighting which is a very good idea cause you have some players allready from MarvelVSCapcom.

Well you capcom, you finally decided to kill resident evil for good. As for your previous reboot tells, resident evil will die forever IF they do reboot.

Make it a survival horror game again instead a 3rd person shooter.

For the sake of the story, yes, reboot everything. Out of desperation, it seems that Capcom is making any excuse to prolong the franchise, but everything is just getting too complex now. For one thing, there are just way too many characters introduced in the last few games that basically contributes to nothing. Why can't they stick with the small, memorable cast like Leon, Chris, Jill, Claire, Ada, Hunk, Wesker, and maybe Barry and Rebecca? (I actually want to see Billy again also)

Besides that, of course the overall identity must be clarified. Survivor-horror, or cheesy action flick? Take your pick Capcom, but in regards of pleasing your longtime fans, I suggest you pick the former.

I'm okay with this depending on how the reboot is done. If it's completely different then don't stick the RE label on it and make it it's own IP.

Release the REmake and REZero for GameCube to all the other consoles, and remake RE2 and I'll be infinitely happy.

i personally enjoyed RE6's first chapter of Leon's campaign....dark, spooky, and a lot of crazy zombie chaos in a familiar surrounding environment....a la a westernized, modern city. make the outdoors chaotic and the indoors spooky. add in some grotesque zombie designs and you have a winner.

i could care less about crazy mutants nor giant ogre-ish monsters. especially zombies that shoot - j'avo. feels like a military game.

put us in the middle of a fresh zombie outbreak where saving people are a priority. whoever you save will aid you in your fight against the outbreak....kind of like the fight where chris and helena helped out those people near the gunshop. add in a branching storyline like that of black ops 2, base on who you assist, and you'd have yourself a great replay value. with all the action-oriented RE these days, RE5/RE6/OpRaccoon City, it's all about action and less intense, gritty, horror.

jake and sherry's stage where you have to hide from that "big" thing in those ice caverns where it's only one hit kill is a total bummer. take that out!!

Not a bad idea. The parasites were atrocious after Resident Evil 4.

good if Capcom is waiting to see how Revelations dose since Revelations is a lot like RE4 and not like 5 or 6 this may be a good thing. Still won't give me resident evil outbreak back or the old way but as long as it stays neer RE4 ill be happy

It is good to know Capcom realised how much of a f*ck up RE6 was and also took the good feedback from Revelations and decided to expand on it's core mechanics on future installments. I seriously hope we get the first 3 games remade (especially 2 and 3)

I miss the tention from old games

I think a reboot is a great idea. However the open world concept is not really all that new. I think they need to go back and beef up the horror and story aspects that made this series classic. Re 5 and 6 focused too much on trying to be all things to all players i.e. action, co op, emo hair styles and dialogue bordering on childish. They need to craft an amazing core story (RE2 was my personal fave) and then apply some innovative ideas that center around bringing the horror back. RE is a game that used to make the hair stand up on the back of my neck. Now its just action dreck.

Give it to Ninja Theory. They can give the rebooted characters silly haircuts, dumb down the difficulty, and make the whole thing "accessible" for a whole new generation of button mashing 13 year olds. Because you know what? If you were born before 1990 we just don't care about you any more.

Resident Evil doesn't need a reboot. Just change the gameplay so it focuses on survival.

What is with Capcom and rebooting their series'? DMC didn't need one, the gameplay, style and characters were fine, just needed to refine the story.

I remember Goold old Re 3 Nemesis, I was out of ammo and Fought With nemesis with knife after he Blowed Up My hopes For escape at clocktower :)

Don't know what good a reboot would do, the problem a lot of people have is the changes to the gameplay. You don't need a reboot to change some of the gameplay elements, the 3DS version is how a lot of people want the series to be. If they want to reboot it to be less of an action game they are probably better off creating an entirely new series while still creating new RE titles. We sure as hell don't need them to turn any of the old RE characters into the new Dante.

Bring the survival horror back ! RE 1, 2, 3 formula. Get rid of the action crap that started RE 4

If you guys want to make it scarier, reboot the series, make it serious and less cheesy and little action, more desperation.
