There are a lot of games that pop into my head yearrrssss after I've played them, and Undead Nightmare is one of them. I have such fond memories of it, and the hasn't really been anything else quite like it. Hopefully it lives up to the nostalgia.

I loved this one on PS3. Couldn't quite get into the second one, found it too slow and boring... I think I also missed playing as John Marston, that guy was a badass. I prefer the art style of the original too. Unpopular opinion, I know. Actually, I felt a similar way about GTA:SA on PS2, I thought its art style was beautiful with those crazy gorgeous sunsets, and it was more fun to play than GTA IV which was too realistic like RDR2. Still respect those games and it's cool if you like them, they just weren't for me.

@Tiwill44: Marston in the first one felt more like a good-leaning anti-hero I think. I felt like Morgan was more just a bad person most of his life...maybe a little redemption in the end, but a bad person.

@Tiwill44:

GTA4/5 and RDR1/2 are flawed games. People only gave them high praises for it's technical achievements and stories. The actual gameplay mechanics/missions were mediocre.

The PS2 era is way better.

@Tiwill44: I felt the same way, the pacing in RDR2 was awful, not to mention John Marston was a way better and more likeable character than Arthur. I always preferred the first one over the second.

There's no good reason this couldn't have been released at the same time as the Switch and PS4 ports, a year ago.

Rockstar's business model is so slimy, always trying to maximize the chances that people buy the same game over and over

@esqueejy: It fits their pattern. Similarly, there's no good reason why GTA 5 never got any PS4 Pro or One X upgrades, or why RDR 2 doesn't get 60fps updates on current consoles.

They want you to have more reasons to buy the same game a second or third time when it gets another port or remaster

@Spartan_418: "It fits their pattern" is not an explanation or supporting argument for "there's no good reason". Those two things are entirely disconnected. You have ZERO support for your assumption that there were no good reasons. It's an absurdist accusation.

You don't even have to reach very far into the realm of practical reality to propose a "good reason." Priorities. They can't and shouldn't do everything at once because that requires spending capital on everything at once, and capital doesn't just include money, but people, the space for them to be working, the equipment for them to do their work etc. If you're not privy to their cost-benefit analyses, investor relations, board votes, etc., and how that translates into business planning...and let's face it, you're not...then you haven't a single tapdancing clue whether there were "good reasons" for literally anything they're doing. And here's another fact: your inability to even conceive of a potential one is why you're not the one they turn to for advice on making their decisions.

It’s about damn time. Those who are born to be bitter and whine will say “too little too late”etc., but who cares? Old games are still better than most new games. The price tag will be the only issue. No way they’re getting $50 for this. $20 is the most it should be, but I’m sure they’ll price it the same as the PS4 re-release.

Now bring over Uncharted 1-3, Sony.

@joecollin: Supposedly the Uncharted trilogy, as well as the God of War trilogy, are getting remakes/remasters on PC and PS5 with the first GoW trilogy remake expected to be announced early next year, sometime around March. This would support the theory as to why Sony didn't want to port the Uncharted trilogy to PC when Uncharted 4 got ported over...

@Simulator_Shock: that would make a lot of sense. I hope you’re right. I don’t care too much about God of War, but I might pick up that trilogy eventually.

@joecollin:I keep reading different things about the GoW remasters, some "sources" are saying the only the first three games are getting remastered, whereas others are saying the entire "Greek saga" is being brought over, including the PSP games and that one PS3 game that nobody played (Ascension). I still prefer the older games over the newer ones, the "modern" GoW games just feel like interactive movie walking simulators to me, considering most of Ragnarok consists of you just following an npc around and listening to them talk...

As for Uncharted I am really hopeful that the Uncharted trilogy finally gets ported over since I loved the games, especially the second one and I would love to have the whole series together on PC. Back when the 4th game got "remastered" for PC/PS5 the excuse that Sony/Naughty Dog gave back then for not porting the trilogy to PC was that "those games were too old" and "no longer graphically impressive" like they were when they originally released, so again this would support the rumor that those games are getting a fresh coat of paint but we'll see what happens.

Too late, yet again. Already played it ("yet again", again) on the Xenia emulator (4k upscaled, 60 FPS). This needed a remaster with the RDR2 engine / version of euphoria + graphics (which will obviously never happen), since I must say it's a game that hasn't aged very well in terms of control mechanics and such... Sure, it's still OK (WAY better than most games of around 2009 / 2010), but it feels just a little bit sluggish for today's standards.

Too little too late. After playing RDR2 and a host of new games, who wants to get back to this old game, and that, too, without any kind of enhancement?

This is just a port.

@DeadManRollin: I'll always take RDR1 over RDR2, the pacing in that game was awful.

@DeadManRollin: I still enjoy playing GTA 4 (2008) occasionally, with no enhancements other than the 60fps on Series X, despite newer games like GTA 5 existing. Sometimes an old game remains good and retains its replay value that way.

But... I wouldn't pay $50 for it

Should note that even though there's no enhancements, being on PC opens the door to graphics mods which could modernize RDR 1 and give us some significant eye candy there

@Spartan_418: I wouldn't mind myself but like you not at $50. I have the game on console and never got to it. I boxed up my consoles and play mainly on PC.

@Sushiglutton: ugh miya never said that. Activision had a sign in their offices in the 80s that said a game that ships bad, stays bad. Thats where he got that from.

@brxricano: Which, of course, was true back then like it will never be again because there was no updating and fixing via intertubes once the game released back then haha. If they pinched a turd, they pinched a forever turd.

@u233: Of course an ssd will be the recommended way to play. Why wouldnt zero loading times be a recommendation? And while 12gb is larger than the original's 8gb or so on 360/ps3, the PC will need additional space for swap files and patches.

Your comment was typical elitist garbage.

@kore_soteira: Well, I just like to see that developers put some effort into old ports like this since they will probably charge 20+ bucks for this. So if you like to spend your money blindlessly, it's fine for me.

@doublem-k: you say this as if there's rules to gaming like only playing a game/franchise once and that's it.. you do realize that a lot of people who love a game or franchise will play the crap out of it many many times right? it's never too late.

@doublem-k: maybe for those who played before but not for new players. The only negative (maybe) is price depending on what that is going to be. But one can wait for a sale or price reduction.
