Quantic Dream Reportedly Developing A Star Wars Game

The developer behind Heavy Rain and Detroit: Become Human is rumored to be working on a Star Wars title.

Rumors suggest that there is another Star Wars game in the works, this one developed by Quantic Dream, which previously worked on Heavy Rain and Detroit: Become Human. The rumors began when French YouTuber Gautoz posted a video in which he claimed that Quantic Dream might be working on a Star Wars game, which was picked up by VGC.

Shortly after, Tom Henderson of DualShockers posted an article stating that an independent source provided evidence that the game was real and had been in development for the past 18 months, which Kotaku was able to corroborate from its own sources. The Star Wars game in question is supposedly different from Quantic Dream's other, quick-time event-heavy games, like Detroit: Become Human. Instead, the game will have more traditional action gameplay, possibly in an open-world environment and with multiplayer elements.

Now Playing: The Evolution Of Star Wars Games

Quantic Dream, helmed by studio head David Cage, announced back in 2019 that it would be ending its deal with PlayStation and working on multiplatform titles moving forward. Similarly, earlier this year Lucasfilm Games announced that Electronic Arts will no longer be the exclusive developer of Star Wars games and announced that Ubisoft has an open-world Star Wars title in the works. It was also recently announced that Aspyr is working on a full remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.

Considering the number of Star Wars games that have been announced so far, it wouldn't be surprising that there are more on the way. Quantic Dream has not publicly commented on the rumors and it's important to remember to take these things with a grain of salt until an official announcement is--or isn't--made.

StarWars is dead RIP!

Something was very off in both recent popular SW titles.

Squadrons & JediFallenOrder...

Everyone celebrates that they are singlePlayer & not micro transactioned,

but i tried to like both games. I was able to force JFO but Squadrons was too clunky and after THREE sep reinstalls and sessions= i bailed..

I think a SW piloting game could be epic! There's just soo much lore in the ships..

The Empire has soo many TIE ships & most dont realize how mny X-wings there are too or A,,B,,E,,Y WINGS there are too.. Not to mention the Rebels can & did use TIE as well..

~BEST ships IIRC are The Tie Advanced that that Vader Flew. They we expensive and only made for elites..

And there's Luke's New Jedi Orders special Stealth X-wings that have all this special Jedi Tehc built in for advanced reflexes and a special Astro Mech droid which makes one Stealth X-wing a Fleet killed.. Only a Jedi can pilot them..

The paint job was OutterSpace like Donna Troys costume from DC comics..

*I reinstalled SW squadrons again for the 4th time two days ago.. So i am trying!

***I think of a gfame like EVE & Elite Dangerous and think of how eppic it would be SW. But Squadrons being so lackluster and clunky ruined that for atleast 10 years.. By the time something epic for SW comes out i will be old.

Love Star Wars games and love QD games. This is a dream come true, except it better not be a fucking PS5 exclusive. It's already BS that they pulled that shit with the KOTOR remake...

I’m not a Star Wars fan, aside from the Knights of the Old Republic games, but I love Quantic Dream, and will buy whatever they put out.

Oh, god no. Quantic Dream games have some of the worst controls (my opinion) of any games I've ever played. I don't want to go through the machinations of opening a door or picking something up like they typically do. That stuff always seemed like it was just there as "filler" for lackluster gameplay.

No, just no.

Loved Fahrenheit, Heavy Rain, Beyond Two Souls and Detroit. I'm not really a Star Wars fan, but I'll give this a shot if Quantic Dream is behind it.

Anything GOOD Star Wars is better than NO Star Wars. I'd play it. Why not? All of QD's games have been pretty awesome. They've got serious talent for telling stories.

Star Wars has no more dignity left to lose at this point, so why the hell not.

Keep your integrity Sony and allow Disney to work for you and not the other way around. These franchises still maintain a lot of potential, when given to the right content creator. Marvel fans will be looking for a creative outlet this decade.
