Infinite Interactive's Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords was one of the best titles of 2007, winning GameSpot's Best PSP Game and Best Game No One Played award at year's end. Its follow-up, Puzzle Quest: Galactrix, has thus far fared far worse on the platforms that it has been released for, with critics drubbing the PC edition of the game for its lackluster story and the seeming overreliance on luck in deciding the outcome of battles.

I made the mistake of buying Galactrix on PC based on my experience with the first game. Unfortunately 1 of them is great, the other is Galactrix. Stay away!

The 1st Puzzle Quest is one of my favorite puzzle games. I was stoked to play Galactrix but I disliked it. The game play is not as fun as the 1st one but it is still entertaining. "Leapgate" puzzles are not at all fun and are a pain.

I played the original Puzzle Quest to death when it first came out. I got addicted to it for awhile. The game sold pretty well on XBLA, so there were a lot of people who played it. I look foward to this new version. Hopefully it'll be just as good.

Do not support this kind of trash. Galactrix is nothing like the challenge of the warlord, it's a horrible game, check out the game's forum, I have created a topic to tell you exactly why it's so bad.

Looking forward to trying this out, despite the lackluster reviews. Hopefully this shows itself on PSN soon. As for the mouse vs gamepad debate, I've owned every version of the original game except the PS2 version and, honestly, it was as seamless with the 360 controller and PS3 Sixaxis as it was with the mouse. While I can't overstate the importance of a mouse in games like The Sims or your average point and click strategy game, don't miss out on a good thing because of preconceived notions... not that you have to, since it's on PC... hmm... so what are y'all complaining about again?

I've been following this one for some time. I know the other versions were critically pounded, but having liked the first one so much I'm willing to give this one a chance. BTW, I don't entirely agree with question of mouse vs. controller. While it was easier with a mouse, it wasn't brutal on the controller, either. No biggie there.

Ugh, puzzle games like this really need to be played with a mouse, or some other point and select device (Wiimote, DS stylus). Moving cursors with a D-pad or thumbstick is just painful.

Great, now all I need is KoF '98 Ultimate Match and I'm set. I'll buy KoF '98 in addition to the PS2 version so long as it comes with CD redbook audio.

i've been playing the 1lvl demo on yahoo games and it's true, luck has waaaaaay too much to do with the overall outcome. it's still fun as hell, just not 1,200 m$ pts fun.

I already picked up the DS version as such I will pass on the XBLA edition. However, if there is a demo I will try it to see how different the game is. I just wish there was a reason leapgate kept closing, is it just random or something? The leapgate hacking mini-game isn't that fun and I would like to minimize how much I do it. The battles are less and less random the more I play it in my opinion. And once you get a ship component that lets you take a few turns back to back it turns into an amazing strategy game.

have both for the ds. tried playing the first one on xbla after i finished it on ds, just found the game to be much less fun with the console as opposed to the touch screen. as for this one, don't find it as fun as the first. does seem more luck based than the first, as the spells aren't quite as powerful. still, good story and a fun game, but won't be going near this one on xbla, gonna stick to the ds version.
