Now Playing: Every PS5 Game Confirmed So Far

All PS5 Game Reveals And Announcements

Grand Theft Auto 5

Rockstar's massively successful Grand Theft Auto 5 is coming to the PS5. The new version will feature enhancements and will be expanded, and it's coming in 2021, with GTA Online free to all PS5 owners.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales

Spider-Man: Miles Morales was shown during the event. Miles Morales takes over as the playable character this time around. The game seems to include more science-fiction elements. It will release during the holiday season. Rather than be a complete sequel, however, it's actually an enhanced and expanded version of 2018's game.

Gran Turismo 7

A new Gran Turismo is in the works for PS5, and it features a campaign mode. Developed with Polyphony Digital, the racing simulator looks incredibly realistic, both in its vehicles and its environments.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart

A new Ratchet & Clank game is in development, and it looks like the heroes have found themselves in a universe with collapsing dimensions, futuristic cities, and dinosaurs. The demonstration featured gameplay, and it included a rain grinding section and even flight on an alien creature.

Project Athia

Square Enix and Luminous Productions premiered a game called Project Athia, which featured werewolf-like creatures and flying sections. It will come exclusively to PS5.

Stray

Annapurna Interactive revealed a robot-focused game called Stray set in a world where humans have died off. Cats, however, are still in abundance, and the robots appear to be replacing humanity in their old roles. It sports a neon-infused aesthetic, and the adorable kitties wear backpacks. It's coming in 2021.

Returnal

A new franchise from Sony was shown during the event. Developed by formerly arcade-focused Housemarque, Returnal features a crash-landing on an alien planet where the protagonist keeps reliving the same events--including her death--over and over again. The planet, however, changes every time she dies.

Sackboy: A Big Adventure

Developed by Sumo Digital, Sackboy: A Big Adventure is the latest game in the LittleBigPlanet franchise. It features action-oriented gameplay and 3D platforming rather than the 2D from the first three games.

Destruction Allstars

Lucid Games premiered an action-sports game called Destruction Allstars during the event. Featuring destructible vehicles as well as on-foot characters, it looks to be a demolition derby taken to the absolute limit, with impressive particle effects and physics.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits

An adorable adventure game developed by Ember Lab, Kena: Bridge of Spirits features Pixar-like visuals magical abilities and enemies. Platforming and discovery will play a major role, as will herding up small, cute creatures. There will also be dangerous monsters that stand in your way.

Goodbye Volcano High

Starring fantasy creatures in a hand-drawn art style, Goodbye Volcano High is an emotional game set in the "end of an era." It will arrive in 2021. It will also feature a unique and indie-style soundtrack if the trailer is accurate.

Oddworld: Soulstorm

Oddworld: Soulstorm was shown during the event. The game has been in development for years and will now release on PS5. However, the new technology hasn't compromised the series' classic character designs or sense of humor, though it does look surprisingly dark and intense.

Ghostwire: Tokyo

Bethesda and Tango Gameworks gave us a look at Ghostwire: Tokyo, which was first shown at E3 2019 in a memorable unveiling. We saw our first look at gameplay this time, including a look at a twisted and changing world overrun with spirits. The game is in first-person and looks far different from Tango's previous titles and it arrives in 2021.

Jett: The Far Shore

Developed by Superbrothers, Jett: The Far Shore was shown during the reveal event. The world is shown as dreary, but a rocket fires into space and shows a series of satellites that appear to hold some sort of future for the planet. Hundreds of years later, a small ship flies to a much more vibrant land.

Godfall

Godfall, first shown several months ago, was demonstrated again during the event. It features intense melee combat using a variety of weapons, as well as supernatural and science-fiction elements. You'll be able to unlock "godlike" armor to defeat powerful foes. It will be out this holiday season.

Solar Ash

From the creators of Hyper Light Drift, Solar Ash was announced for PS5. The hostile world seems to reject the protagonist and there are mentions of a "Void" before the demonstration transitioned to the gameplay. It arrives in 2021.

Hitman 3

A new Hitman game, Hitman 3 was shown during the presentation, with a cinematic trailer showing a very elusive Agent 47. Several settings are shown, including a giant mansion and a dark forest. It's out next January, and it will conclude the rebooted trilogy.

Astro's Playroom

A new Astro game was shown during the event, called Astro's Playroom. It is being developed by Japan Studio, but only a brief glimpse of gameplay was shown.

Little Devil Inside

An adventure game with a unique aesthetic, as well as plenty of mystical creatures, Little Devil lnside features a mix of stealthy exploration, direct combat, and even hunting wild creatures like dragons. There will be numerous settings, including frozen tundras and cities.

NBA 2K21

NBA 2K21 got its first teaser. The in-engine footage featured impressive sweat effects on players, with individual beads clearly dripping down their faces. The game will arrive this fall, likely alongside the system itself.

Bugsnax

A charming game featuring a Steve Irwin style wildlife expert, Bugsnax is from the creators of Octodad. Creatures are mixes of bugs and snacks, such as burgers and strawberries. It looks incredibly bizarre, to say the least, and will be out this holiday season.

Demon's Souls

As was rumored, Demon's Souls is getting a remake, and it looks to be much more than a simple increase in resolution. From Software's masterpiece has been completely overhauled and looks like it was created specifically for the PS5.

Deathloop

Arkane Studios presented its game Deathloop during the event, which was first shown at E3 2019. Assassins are engaged in an ongoing duel, and it retains the studio's well-known first-person stealth. However, things can go awry and require plenty of firepower, and you can restart the loop to rectify things.

Resident Evil Village

Resident Evil Village was shown during the presentation, with a shot of a forest, creepy stuffed animals, and a woman reading a folktale before things get violent. It will be in first-person, just like Resident Evil 7, and looks to put an emphasis on atmosphere and horror over action. Also, there are werewolves. It comes out in 2021, and the title no-so-secretly includes the Roman numeral VIII.

Pragmata

A post-apocalyptic game set in a world where cats are now holograms, horrifying natural disasters wreck the world of Pragmata. We see a man in a spacesuit get thrown into the air, along with several cars, and he then finds himself on the moon with little explanation. It will arrive in 2022.

Horizon Forbidden West

The sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn, Forbidden West, was finally shown during the show, with protagonist Aloy narrating a trailer that featured impressive environments and fauna. A plague appears to be causing local wildlife to die off, and she must race to discover what is causing it before it's too late. She will be able to explore underwater and discover secrets beneath the surface.

Two PS5 Consoles

The PS5 console itself was also revealed and comes in two configurations: PS5 and PS5 Digital Edition. As the name implies, the latter does not feature a disc drive, and the PS5 design for both consoles sports a curved look. We didn't get a price or release date for the PS5 just yet, but Sony said that's coming later.

Wish I could see something exciting that would make me want to throw money at PS5.

The Cat game looked cool :D

~~So what has Bethesda been doing for almost a decade post Skyrim?

Starfield & new ElderScrolls we're announced 5 or so years ago & we still haven't even seen a screenshot. & All we know is there's a Skyrim Grandma in the game..OK...

~Beyond Good & Evil ~So assuming this is also PS5 as Ubisoft doesn't usually do exclusive to either console. right?

*Madden,,Fifa & sports games still play the same exact way they did on the Sega Genesis.

a change in the way sports games are played is long overdue..

~I think most of the older gamers weren't too impressed. The innovation is kinda missing.

All I see is improved graphics & assumed improved Framerate.. This isn't enough because I already have both of these on PC...

*The PS4 + XboxOne weren't as exciting as Xbox360+PS3,,,and the NextXboxX + PS5 isn't as exciting as those.. Seems like the industry is taking the fanbase for granted..

I don't want to be NegNancy but...

Meh not really much pushing me to go out and buy it. Think I'll stick with my PS4 and Series X for a year or so til some real games come out and not just rushed add-ons and semi-sequels.

GTAV made me laugh. Again? Really? Now you're not even trying...

@Jimminyfixit: Same here, I got PS4 Pro and I spend more time on PC. At least a year or two, before I consider even. The line between current and next gen is becoming so thin, that there is almost no difference. I already play in 4K on PS4 Pro, so I don't see any huge reason to upgrade so early, plus there are no incentives. They need to start something like 'turn PS4 pro in and receive 50% off from PS5', or something, and do it all through pre-made mail packaging, so I wouldn't need to go to Gamestop to trade in my consoles. We are in 2020, supposed to have flying vehicles by now...

Cannot wait for GTA5, it's been 2013 since GTA5 cane out, it's going to be the best game ever.

I think it's been in development for 7 years that's the longest rockstar game in development.

PS5 looks like futuristic trash, only a die hard brain dead Sony pony would even like this thing. Sony is effing crazy in the head for making this thing as it looks. Xbox or PC all the way this time. Plus both console and the controller glow blue now how effing lame.

Did you noticed Sony didn't mention anything about BC at the event, because if it had full BC it would have been mentioned. Once again they lied, they are taking it's fans for granted once again. Xbox sx all the way this time no doubt about it, it's more powerful and it has 100% BC.

Is it just me or do the next gen games look almost no different to current gen games? I’m really unimpressed. The game’s themselves are something to look forward to but feel like they could work on current gen

@mickpunx: Agreed - its all exponential though as back in the day when we were jumping from SD PS2 to HD PS3 the results were obvious and it needed less of a power leap to process the additional polygons to make a visual difference. 2 generations later and you need more like 100 times the processing power of the previous gen (exaggerated) and years of development time to make the same leap in visuals.

@mickpunx: I agree. 4k is 4k. We have it on the PS4 so really there isn't any new tech. only faster frame rates which I think are just fine for the current console. Honestly the only thing I'm really hoping for is a quieter console. The PS4 Pro sounds like jet engine.

@EricDWright: Unfortunately the NVME SSD's they'll be using run hot (which also degrades lifespan) so it will be interesting to see what Sony do about this. Probably whack another fan on!

@50_Ft_Kingie: I watched it on a 4K screen. Still felt underwhelmed. Didn’t you? Couple stand outs (horizon) but it seems each generation is a smaller leap in visuals. I guess it’s more about speed this gen. Again, not complaining, just an observation

@mickpunx: Ah right fair enough. I guess it's diminishing returns at this stage, with the jump from SD to HD being a lot more impactful than the jump from HD to 4K.

I'm hoping that the games released mid-gen will take a lot more advantage of the hardware than the launch titles.

Definitely a great showing, lots of good games shown here. However, nothing truly said I needed a PS5 right away, as a lot of the games don't have a release yet.

I'm just not moved by most of this. There's no "lightning rod" event or product here.

I don't feel the impetus. I don't "need" or even "want" a PS5. Most of this just looks like graphical improvements of stuff I already have access to. Several of the games we already have access to, just improved in ways that will matter in varying ways to different people.

Plus I'm not really convinced that most of these "exclusives" won't find their way to other platforms. Hell, PC is getting HZD soon, which was one of the only reasons I ever wanted a PS4. Had I known it wasn't exclusive? I wouldn't have a Sony console sitting in my house.

I ended up getting a free PS4 Pro with credit card points towards the end of the PS4 gen, and I don't feel like I missed anything. I don't see any reason why I wouldn't do exactly the same with the PS5.

@gamerforlife96: That's even worse. You'd think after they made the #1 selling game of all time they'd have a little extra money to put towards GTA 6; to do something for the loyal fanbase. But no, all we get is a cheap remaster that looks worse than a PS4 pro game and will probably cost around $70

@gwalcott: Has nothing to do with Sony. Buy both consoles ( PS4 and Xbone )and quit the console whining "war".

Rockstar is making WAY TOO MUCH money from moron-transactions in GTA5 online. R* wants to milk that for as long as they can. Stop wasting $$$$ on that!!!

I watched the 1st hour and had to quit when i realized they might be only indie games from then on till end of the show.

Ratched&Clank stood out...it was flawless, colorfull, sharp and polished graphics, still not a game i would buy but it was a good showcase.

Everything else looked like it could run of a standard SSD.

I think 2 hours was just too long,2 shows each 1 hour long would be better imo.

It was better than the May Xbox showcase, hope the Xbox 1st party looks more professional.

Not a fan of the console design,it reminds me of my router standing next to my Xbox!

With that said,i own few odd looking consoles from the past and i enjoyed their games...after a certain time, you get used to it.

The question i have is,with all the comments i read about how Sony was/is busy solving the heat problem,i am surprised the console has not more space for the airflow in the case.
Sony showing an alldigital console makes me think the flagship console will cost more than expected(might happen with the XBsX aswell)

Okay, there is one exclusive that looks very promising actually. I hadn't realized that Demon's Souls was a proper remake, and I absolutely love the way it looks now. It strongly reminds me of Diablo 2's atmosphere, which I really haven't seen since. This could be the system seller I was waiting for. Hope it's good.

There are quite a few games that really look promising. I think 2 Groundhog Day/Happy Death Day games were a bit much though. I thought that was funny, "Here's a new original game. Returnal! Where if you die, you go back in time and start again." And then, "Are you ready for something new and innovating?" Deathloop! Where if you die, you loop back in time and start again" LOL. But seriously I'm stoked about Horizon Forbidden West. Stray and Project Athia look intriguing, as well as Pragmata. A solid, diverse group of games so far. There has to be at least one game in there that even the most hard to please gamer would be interested in.
