If it was part of PSN I'd sub, but I don't see value in either service, I just choose not to play online on my PS4 instead.

Value in it honestly depends a lot on how many of the games you haven't played on it. Got a discount subscription around black Friday and so far the value has been insane. Trails of cold steel 1 and 2 which I never got around to buying. EDF 2025(and now 4.1). Dynasty warriors 8 xtreme legends, I hate buying the xtreme legends versions of games, a lot of small indie games, and a few RPGs I never gotten around to. My nephew has also found a few fun puzzle games and FPS games that I would have never of bought myself. Also quite a few good couch co-op games on there. Most of those games are games that I wouldn't have paid 10-20 bucks to play but they are fun to play once in a while and I feel less obligated to finish any of them so I'll return to the ones I don't want to finish right away whenever I get around to it or never, depending on how much I enjoyed them. Overall if I had to put a price tag on the price of the games I played over the past 4 months, I would say around $300 which is way more than the ~$60 I paid for the year.

I hope this causes a spike in BF:HL players for awhile...

Driving like a maniac in a high-speed explosive game of domination/control point is absolutely a blast!

(The rest of the game is mostly crap.)

@Pyrosa: all I did was camp noobs in cars with rpgs at choke points and after people die 10x they get real angry and come at you for free kills. and if there's a fair few of you, you can rinse the entire match with just 3-4 of you.

the real fun was going on the roof with a grapple hook in that little box map, with a dmr and a thermal scope and smoke grenades, you can survive the whole match on one life easy.

So people pay $99 a year to play 3 years old sport games (NBA 2K16 and WWE 2K16) that now cost around $5. Sounds like a good deal!

@awesomeandstuff: At least it's 'only' $99 in the US. In the UK it's currently on 'sale pricing' for £9 per month for a 12 month subscription which equates to £108. That translates to $140 US dollars or so. Is it any wonder noone rates the service when they call that a sale rate?

PSNow what a load of second rate garbage. This was just a horrid stunt to charge for backwards compatability without even offering it. Sony are vile and the service as awful.

@pcgamer2019: Make sure to let MS know, since they're starting their own and streaming is the future of the Xbox brand.

@rolento25: I'm stuck informing the uninformed, who are usually from the console gamer crowd living on hopes, dreams and nothing more.

@lonesamurai00: OK. We'll see about that. If the infrastructure can even support it at that time. Right now it isn't feasible due to the current state of networking. AAA multiplayer games have enough issues without adding more latency problems. Maybe you should learn some networking and how game streaming works.

@darkelf83: Maybe you need to learn that 5G speeds in ten years will be more than ready by then. They may have even better, faster network solutions that are even faster than 5G in ten years, but 5G will be more than up to the task of streaming games at any resolution, and wireless by the way, now that's speed. Why do you think that Google, Microsoft, and others are hedging their bets on this and as such Sony would be left behind reaching far fewer gamers and they won't want that - so for console gaming, streaming is the future.

The one thing I don't like about PS Now(besides the streaming part anyway) is they don't organize the games by platform. There's no way to differentiate the PS3 games from the PS4 games. So if I wanted to get a solid idea of what's actually available on PS4 and by extention actually available to download I can't not without clicking that game and reading it's description. Honestly for now I think I'll just stick to Game Pass but it's nice to see this is service getting better.

@Marky360: There's an option for that in the browse section to browse by platform. You can also browse by genre, look and feel, various other collections and a ton of recommendation options.

@nedrith:

I looked for this and couldn't find it and was turned off by the fact that I couldn't actually see exactly how man PS4 games were available on the service. With this plus the ability to actually DOWNLOAD all the PS4 games I could actually see myself signing up for PS Now along with Xbox Game Pass. Kinda wish Sony would drop the price of the sub to $10 a month tho.

PS Now should make all of them downloadable. It'd be a great service if you could.

@srfilk86: Yeah, but the reason why PS4 games are downloadable is because they're, well, PS4 games. PS3 games would still need to be emulated and that's not possible.

A better question is why can't we download PS1 and 2 games? Those emulators exist and they work just fine. Man, a SuperStation with the guts of all Playstations worked into it would be great. They should make that instead of Minis.

@Barighm: I think I actually saw some PS2 games on PS Now which could be downloaded they may be ones which were released on PS4 though. Hopefully with PS5 (if the backwards compatibility rumours are true) then there will be no excuse to not have an option to download them all.

@gamingdevil800: Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure Sony said the BC would only apply to PS4 games and newer games going forward, not the entire Sony back catalogue. They did say they wished to tap into those games, though.

@gamingdevil800: Yes there would as it would only support PS4 and PS5 games. I doubt they found a better method that can easily read and/or handle any of the previous system's games, especially when PS Now is making it redundant to do, eventually, and XBox is planning the same thing.
The completely digital and always online plan nobody liked when they introduced the XBone is still happening.

Want to make me happy sony? Add the original ratchet and clank trilogy to it. Those games are classics for alot of playstation fans. And they sadly have no way of being played on the PS4.

Either that or make them downloadable like they did with the jak trilogy awhile ago.
