PlayStation Plus Game Catalog Has 16 More Games Now

Kena: Bridge of Spirits, Doom Eternal, and Bassmaster Fishing are available now via the PS Plus Game Catalog.

Sony has released the latest slate of titles for its PlayStation Plus Game Catalog, including the cute throwback action-platformer Kena: Bridge of Spirits, which stars adorable critters and plenty of puzzles. You'll also be able to play two fantastic first-person shooters: the sequels Doom Eternal and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus. In one of them, you'll be facing literal demons from Hell, while the other has you fighting figurative demons from Hell (Nazis).

The follow-up to 2016's Doom reboot, Doom Eternal dials up the action, carnage, and chainsaws to absurd levels as you battle against the forces of hell. Shifting gears, you can face even more demonic threats in Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, as you guide BJ Blazkowicz on a mission to evict Nazis from the US of A.

There's also Slay the Spire, which helped kickstart a whole new genre of rogue-like deckbuilding games, Ubisoft's live service extreme sports game Rider's Republic, and Tango Gameworks' classic survival-horror game The Evil Within. For more relaxing pursuits, you'll be able to download and play Bassmaster Fishing, Paradise Killer, and the charming Sackboy: A Big Adventure this month.

For PlayStation Premium subscribers, there aren't any PS1 or PS2 games being added to the Classics library, but there is a whole lot Doom on the way. Doom, Doom II, Doom 64, and Doom 3 will be available this month, and for a more modern first-person adventure, you can add Dishonored: Definitive Edition to your collection as well. You can see more details on these games on the PS Blog.

In case you missed it, last month's PS Plus Game Catalog added a number of big games to the library, including Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, Ghostwire Tokyo, and Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot. There are still a few weeks left to claim games from the PS Plus collection on PS5 before that subscriber perk is removed on May 9, and on all tiers of PS Plus, the free games for April include Meet Your Maker, Sackboy: A Big Adventure, and Tails of Iron.

Pretty happy with this offering. I've wanted to play Kena, I just had plenty in my backlog and a few months ago, figured it might be worth waiting and here it is.

  • Kena: Bridge of Spirits (PS4, PS5)
  • Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus (PS4)
  • Sackboy: A Big Adventure

Three really nice games, really good. ----

  • Bassmaster Fishing (PS4, PS5) -I saw others playing this game, and while I personally would never buy a fishing game..... I was drawn to the graphics and interface. It looked really fun. If I have time, will give it a go.

For many years now usually buy a year's sub for both consoles around black fridays. Well worth it.

Also for those wondering, DOOM 2016 and Wolfenstein The New Order are still available on Extra, so you don't have to skip ahead.

@paperwarior17: Just thinking that. Still no real reason to pay the higher premium for... Premium.

Several of these games I have thought about purchasing. I don't see how i'll ever have the time for all of them but damn this is a good package of games!

I'm really enjoying Meet Your Maker way more than I thought I would... already so many hours put into it and not sure when i'll put it down. So while these games look delicious, i'm going to have to ignore them for a while. :-/

@rawrz720: Considering Bethesda’s games sell better on PlayStation, and apparently run better on PlayStation too which is embarrassing, they’re lucky Sony still hasn’t pulled their games from the PS Store. 99% of Bethesda games are commercial failures, and PlayStation Store makes way more money than the Xbox store for obvious reasons, such as PlayStation being the far more popular console.

@gamerbum: you sound like an entitled brat. Who are you or who are we to have the audacity to „want“ games day 1? Sony. Clearly stated that they won‘t do that, which is totally fine from a company side of view (their exclusives sell like hot cakes) and even from a qualit side of view. I bought plenty of sony exclusives day 1 and got my moneys worth and wouldnt be mad if they put it 2 months after on ps plus extra. I have both the ps5 and xsx and gamepass definitely is the much better service, but not because their exclusives get added day 1

This is a stupid console war nonsense comment.

There’s absolutely nothing entitled about wanting the best value for his money. That’s entirely what a consumer should be advocating for. Stop doing corporate PR - companies pay people to do that.

@powerstar92: You got to admit that day one exclusives does alot for adding value to a subscription service. Not to knock on how Sony does things, because their first party exclusives are bangers that they prefer to sell, and both Xbox and PS have different long term goals.

@zetti777: I never denied that day 1 exclusives adds lots of value to the service. But honestly I dont think microsoft would still add their exclusives day 1 if they had the same quality as sony‘s… long term goals are definitel different I agree.
