Official GameCube-Style Wireless Switch Controller Is 25% Off Right Now
This authentic GameCube-style Nintendo Switch controller comes in wireless or wired models with Super Mario Bros. themes.
While GameCube games never came to the Nintendo Switch Online service like many hoped, a few GameCube games managed to join the Switch's library in the form of ports, remakes, and remasters. If you're looking for a more authentic way to play those games, consider picking up the PowerA GameCube-Style Wireless Controller for Nintendo Switch while its on sale at Amazon for just $45 (was $60). A wired variant is also discounted to just $21 (was $28).
Both models of PowerA's officially licensed GameCube-Style Controller for Nintendo Switch recapture the iconic shape, button layout, and colors of the original GameCube controller, like four shoulder buttons (instead of the original's three) and a larger D-Pad. It also replaces the solitary Start button with the Switch's Plus, Minus, Home, and Capture buttons.
Since the wireless model connects via Bluetooth, it's very likely to work with the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, which supports Switch accessories.
PowerA GameCube Wireless Controller for Nintendo Switch - Toad
$45 (was $60)
The wireless model comes in the iconic GameCube purple and features a cute Toad icon on the center of the controller. It also features wireless connectivity via Bluetooth 5.0, and comes with two AA batteries. If Amazon's sale runs out, you can also grab this model for $48 at Best Buy.
PowerA GameCube Style Wired Controller for Nintendo Switch - Bowser
$21 (was $28)
For a more affordable alternative, PowerA also makes a wired version that features a detachable 10-foot USB cable with a velcro strap for easy cable management. Rather than purple, this model comes in black and sports a Bowser icon in the center. Otherwise, it's identical to the wireless models in terms of button layout and functionality.
While both controllers are perfect for playing Switch versions of GameCube games like Metroid Prime Remastered or Super Mario Sunshine in Super Mario 3D All-Stars, longtime Smash Bros. fans may prefer the GameCube input layout for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Best of all, it can double as a Switch Pro controller since it includes all the necessary buttons to play Switch games.
If you're in the market for a more traditional wireless Switch controller with a Super Mario theme, Amazon has deals on several cool designs from PowerA and Hori. You can also save on themed controllers based on other Nintendo franchises such as The Legend of Zelda and Kirby. All of the controllers listed below are wireless and connect via Bluetooth.
