Nintendo's E3 2017 Main News Briefing Is 30 Minutes Long

LMAO you people are delusional. Always ready to defend nintendo even when it looks bad. I own a switch and i'm loving it. Zelda, and mk8 are so fun. But lets be honest here. With a 30 minute e3. You can expect nothing more than mario and splatoon 2 which was already revealed. Last year was an hour and they had jack shit to show. Other than the BOTW trailer which was damn good. There's a reason why i always own a playstation alongside my nintendo cobsole. You have to wait an extremely long time between good nintendo games. 3rd party games? No you will get hardly any. With 4 gigs of ram its just not happening. You're getting the last gen version of skyrim NOT the remaster. And "EA Sports FIFA" not FIFA 18. Because they have to make a dummied down game for the switch. So while i enjoy finding these last 13 shrines in zelda then splatoon/mario in the future. Myself and the rest of you can expect not very much for the rest of the year. Go boot up a ps4 or xbox between that time. Nintendo's games library alone hasn't been enough in over a decade. And not only do they have a weak games library. They still have not even announced virtual console to the switch!. Other than the free nes games with the online service, we have not heard shit abput getting the true virtual console like the wii u had. Which would make the lack of games on switch alot easier to deal with. Nintendo never ceases to amaze me by how they can be succesful and a complete failure at the same time.

I'm expecting mario to be great, but not much more aside from what was already announced.

I love the switch and will keep supporting it, but even I can admit that this looks dire.

So much negativity here. Seriously, the length of the Direct will be absolutely irrelevant if they have some great stuff to announce. And I expect they'll have plenty to announce this year. They've been doing a great job of getting great games on the Switch so far (and with steady releases of content each week), and I expect they'll announce plenty of things for people to look forward to. Every indication thus far shows the releases for this system have been very well planned out. They are supporting the system better than any console they've ever released at this stage of its' lifecycle. I personally think the Switch is the absolute best console Nintendo has released in a very long time, if not ever (and yes, I have owned and extensively played all of their systems minus the Virtual Boy). I don't care what anyone else says about that. People can bitch and complain as so many already do when they don't fully understand something. Meanwhile, I'll be having a great time playing great games on this great system.

I've been let down before, but I think Nintendo has a plan this time. I'd definitely bet on it.

I don’t care if its 5 minutes. In fact, they can just show an image of what games they have in store for us & I’ll be a happy camper, as long as 1 of them includes Smash Bros, Zelda??, Metroid, Star Fox, etc... Hell, surprise me with some of that 3rd party support it was supposedly gonna have…you know, games I’ve actually heard of (not 20yrs ago).

Nintendo really like doing their directs, guys. It was like this last year, and I assume, they'll either -

Show some stuff at gamescom

or livestream new games at a direct

Seriously? Does Nintendo even try at E3 anymore? 2015 was horrendous, 2016 was barely saved by Zelda, and now this is only 30 minutes? Do they really have nothing much in store for the Switch?

Most Press conferences are really about only 15 mins of good stuff...the rest is just drivel on crappy stats and unnecessary stages presences from celebrities and other rubbish.

As long as Metroid is announced I don't care if its 15min.

I want to buy the switch but I need another game apart from zelda to justify the expense, metroid would seal the deal.

Not really a problem if they follow the Headline format of the April Nintendo Direct and speed through reveals and letting Treehouse Livestream give more details.

Also 2014 and 2015 were near 45 minutes only because they had the filler segments of Robot Chicken/Muppets and those God forsaken developer stories. The Splatoon reveal took 6 goddamn minutes because of that.

To clarify Metroid Prime 4 or a new 3D game, not a 2D MetroidVania I think there's enough of those games out now. (even if it is the original)

Imagine Sony or MS put out only 2-3 exclusives for a whole console genera....wait,...yeah one of them actually did. Sorry i'll let myself out.

5 minutes intro and boasting Switch sales figures

10 minutes various trailers of 3rd party and Indie games

5 minutes Super Mario Oddesy game-play

5 minutes about future plans for online services

5 minutes of something else... probably a new party game like 1-2 switch

So far switch is shaping up to be one of my favorite consoles of all time.

I put a lot of hours into zelda- played Lego city with the little one/ and Mario kart.

I have put 30+ hours into disgaea (first time I ever played the seriers and loving it).

Xenoblade hopefully grabs me- skyrim for the 5th damn time- and I want NBA to do better on switch than the others just to prove that switch can sell third party.

I play most of the time on the go however past few times I played at home was disgaea both on tv and sitting in handheld mode on couch.

Hmmm. Idk if this is a good thing or a bad thing, because it's short, but the treehouse is handling the live gameplay and interviews, so that won't be in there presentation. So, Nintendo's presentation might be all trailers. Hmmm. Things to think about. I guess the only thing to do is wait and see.

I'm getting less and less enthusiastic about E3 this year for Nintendo. First, they say it's only going to be for games released in 2017, which kind of narrows it down, because early 2018 should be talked about too! I don't know, if they're only going to be talking about games released between Splatoon 2 and Mario Odyssey, I don't expect that number to be too large. Really, I'm anticipating this will be a 3DS heavy show, with a few Switch games. For whatever reason, despite the world loving Switch more, Nintendo seems to love 3DS more.

I assume all the demos and such will be saved for the treehouse; so if 30 mins are solely for announcements, that is plenty.

Only 30 minutes that can only tell you one thing and that is that they have much to show you and what they gonna show you, already been around in the news for months and they just wanna confirm it. Which is a little sad because this is their chance to show the world how much they have going for their console and to convince you that you not making a mistake by buying their console. Red flags all over the place.

Most people could probably tell you already what it's gonna be, pretty much the stuff that's been announced, more re-releases and SNES Retro for this holiday season.

Oh crystal ball ..... what news shall we hear from Nintendo? What's this I see....... I see a Super Nintendo Retro Console to be released at Christmas with 25 games built in. What...what....yes....yes...... I also see millions upon millions of people extremely pissed off because they never see this unit in stores and can only buy it for three times the retail price from scalpers online...........my crystal ball has gone black now......
