Nintendo Alarmo - Where To Buy The Interactive Alarm Clock
Nintendo's gamified alarm clock launched as a Switch Online exclusive last fall, but now you can find it at Walmart, Target, and Best Buy.
Nintendo fans can pick up one of the manufacturer's newest pieces of hardware at Walmart and other major retailers. No, we aren't talking about the Nintendo Switch 2--preorders sold out fast--we're referring to the company's latest "weird" gadget: Nintendo Alarmo. Created in-house by Nintendo and initially released as a Switch Online member exclusive last fall, Alarmo started popping up at major retailers throughout February and March.
At the moment, Nintendo Alarmo is available to purchase at Walmart, Target, GameStop, Best Buy, and the Nintendo Store. Like the Switch 2 and other first-party Nintendo products, Alarmo is not officially sold by Amazon, and third-party listings have absurdly inflated prices (don't buy it from Amazon).

The Mario-red alarm clock has a dynamic front display and built-in speaker. Before you go to sleep, you can choose which Nintendo characters and games will wake you up the next morning.
Alarmo launched with sights and sounds from five Nintendo Switch hits, including Super Mario Odyssey and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. So far, Nintendo has added two more games to the lineup via free post-launch updates: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
In total, there are over 40 scenes that can be watched on the screen when the corresponding tracks from the game pull you out of your slumber. You can opt for the volume to increase over time. As a heavy sleeper, I use this setting.
Nintendo Alarmo displays scenes from the following games:
- Super Mario Odyssey
- The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
- Animal Crossing: New Horizons
- Splatoon 3
- Pikmin 4
- Ring Fit Adventure
Alarmo has several cool interactive features, too. The built-in motion sensor lets you snooze your alarm with a gesture or a button press (it's your choice). Nintendo characters from the games above can also respond to motion-detected gestures.
Throughout the day, Alarmo can be used to remind you what time it is by setting it to play music at specific intervals. It can also track your sleep and let you know how often you're tossing and turning, which provides a general idea of the quality of your sleep.
Alarmo is powered with the included USB-C cable. While it doesn't work wirelessly, the included coin battery saves your settings, so if you need to move the clock to another room or your power goes out, you can plug it back in without needing to set it up again.
Nintendo plans to release more updates, including new scenes, for Alarmo in the future. Updates are free, but you need to connect the device to Wi-Fi to download them.
In the world of very unofficial updates, it's technically possible to play Doom on Nintendo Alarmo.
As mentioned, Nintendo Switch 2 preorders are currently sold out ahead of its June 5 release, but it's worth checking retailer listings, as we have seen brief restocks since preorders opened on April 24.
Though it won't help for those who want a Switch 2, it's worth noting that the Nintendo Switch OLED bundle with Super Mario Bros. Wonder is still in stock at several major retailers.
