Monolith and DWANGO Deal
Lithtech 3D engine to feature DWANGO multiplayer networking technology.
Monolith Productions has announced an agreement with DWANGO, one of the original online gaming services, to provide DWANGO's low-latency networking software in Monolith's LithTech 3D gaming engine. This way, developers using the LithTech 3D engine can incorporate multiplayer features into their titles without additional work.
"We are very excited to be able to provide our licensees and the game community an additional feature of built-in access to DWANGO's sophisticated networking services," said Monolith Productions' CEO Jason Hall.
The first titles to use the LithTech 3D engine will be Monolith's SHOGO: Mobile Armor Division and Blood 2: The Chosen.
"We are very pleased to be a part of Monolith's LithTech 3D Engine, one of the finest game development tools on the market today," said Bob Huntley, CEO of DWANGO. "This allows game developers to take full advantage of our low-latency technology, which will in turn provide a superior experience for gamers."
