Open-world action game Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes will launch for PC through Steam on December 18, publisher Konami announced today.
The publisher did not share the minimum or recommended PC requirements for Ground Zeroes, but the company said the game will support 4K resolution. The PC version will also feature increased shadow resolution, more simultaneous light sources, and an increase in the number of on-screen character models shown at the same time.
Ground Zeroes, a prequel to 2015's The Phantom Pain, originally launched in March 2014 for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4. Set in 1975 on a prison base called Camp Omega, Ground Zeroes challenges players to infiltrate the base using a combination of stealth and action mechanics.
Despite controversy over its length, Ground Zeroes has sold over 1 million copies to date.
The Phantom Pain is also coming to PC, though Konami did not announce a release date today. The PC versions of Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain were officially announced by Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima back at Gamescom in August.
