Metaphor: ReFantazio's 600-Page Strategy Guide Is Available At Amazon

Published by Future Press on April 22, the official guidebook looks like a comprehensive reference manual and a cool collectible.

Metaphor: ReFantazio fans can finally add the official strategy guide to their shelves. Originally announced last December with a February release date, the nearly 600-page hardcover book was quietly delayed to late April by publisher Future Press. The comprehensive guidebook retails for $55.

More Future Press Guidebooks

If you're interested in Metaphor's strategy guide, you may want to pick it up sooner rather than later. Future Press is also the publisher of Elden Ring's Books of Knowledge, a three-part guidebook series that is often difficult to find in stock, especially the first two volumes. Elden Ring fans can pick up Volume 3, which focuses on Shadow of the Erdtree, for $37.81 (was $45).

Future also re-released its popular Bloodborne guides last October as one 744-page tome covering the base game and DLC. In April of last year, the Dark Souls Trilogy Compendium was reprinted to celebrate Future's 25th anniversary. Unfortunately, this one is currently sold out at major retailers. Amazon also recently ran out of copies of the Armored Core 6 Pilot's Manual--a very useful resource for the newest Armored Core game, which is arguably more complex than any Souls game or Elden Ring.

Though not published by Future, it's worth mentioning that there's another very exciting gaming book release slated to arrive in a few months. Metroid Prime 1-3: A Visual Retrospective is available to preorder for $45 (was $50) at Amazon. This hardcover book will be published by Piggyback, the team behind the superb Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom guides--which are available for great discounts right now.

I want that Metaphor guide, but I don't want to spend money on it. This is a problem.

This makes me nostalgic. Remember when official strategy guides for games were the norm? I 'member.

As a kid with limited access to the internet I was particularly fond of those Pokémon strategy guides, they sure helped me a lot.

@fraga500: Oh yeah, for sure. I had a fat pay check in my pocket, and went to Babbage's. I wanted a fighter, maybe a driving game. He showed me the black label strategy guide for Final Fantasy 7.... I said, that is wild looking. I bought the guide and the game.

Ruined my 5 yr career plan, but still one of the best experiences ever, and have been a rpg gamer, ever since.

@fraga500: I gave my niece a Red Dead Redemption III strategy guide I had lying around (she's really into riding around and taking care of the horse) and she didn't know what to do with it.

@dushness: Ironically I never actually want to get these until I've played the game to see if I like the game enough.
