Although the 360 had mostly superior multipalts the general consensus was that the PS3 was more powerful just far harder to program for. That was proven time and time again with the Uncharted Series, GOW and TLOU. In the case of the PS4 vs Xbox one the X1 has no advantages. Its multipaltas look worse , its exclusives will look worse and from what most developers say devloping on both systerms is easy. The PS4 is simply more powerful which was not the case with the Xbox360 and the PS3.

We are not discussing whether the game is good or not. That comes later when you play it. We are discussing which is the best way to play it in order to have the best experience. Smug remarks like that are ignorant and miss the point. Great gameplay is enhanced even further with awesome graphics. Crap gameplay will always be crap no matter how good the graphics. I want great gameplay with great graphics. What do you want, great gameplay with average graphics. You're remark seems to echo the MS propaganda about the games being more important than powerful hardware spec. Why choose, have both. Buy a PS4.

<< LINK REMOVED >> Gameplay still determines whether a game is good or not. It's just that most devs nowadays have a pretty basic grasp of how to make a decent game and so they have to try to sell their games with graphics.

This is basically how Crytek operates. They create these really demanding and advanced games on a technical level but the actual gameplay is nothing particularly special.

In the end a great looking game with mediocre gamplay is still a mediocre game.

There are still plenty of games that have very basic graphics and are super fun to play. Just look at Nidhogg or Hotline Miami.

XB1 fanboys don't want to know the truth. The truth hurts. They prefer to bury their head in the sand hoping for some magic sauce and console themselves with MS propaganda about games being the most important thing. Yes gameplay is king but the way it's delivered is important too. Great gameplay enhanced with great graphics will always be a better experience than great gameplay with average graphics. Those on PS4 know it's possible to have both at the same time.

I've haven't heard a dev make such a comment to be honest. All dev comments are money motivated in order to drive sales, so I can only assume the game looks crap on XB1. They may have deduced that they are not going to get many sales from the lame XB1 port and don't want PS4 players to put off buying it based on looking at the XB1 version. It's basically damage limitation using differentiation to advertise its strengths, so they can capitalise on the larger PS4 user base.

We already know Kojima is very sensitive to how the games visuals are perceived by his audience, when he claimed to be depressed how good GTAV's open world looked. He would want to gather praise by highlighting the best version so that the sub par version did not drag it down.

I wonder how MS fits into this because they won't be very happy. The dev may have contacted MS and told them the planned announcement was for financial reasons and then asked if MS wanted to pay some financial compensation in order to keep it quite with a strict NDA. MS may have said no otherwise all devs will be doing the same.

Other devs may start to do the same in future as they hit problems with the XB1 when trying achieve port parity. I keep repeating this, but PS4 and XB1 are too far apart for port parity.

<< LINK REMOVED >> The real difference here is that Sony doesn't buy their trolls. Take Respawn and the ridiculously, hilariously stupid comment that the PS4 isn't powerful enough to handle Titanfall. I'm sure Microsoft had nothing to do with that obviously paid for statement.
