Lego's Technic 2 Fast 2 Furious Nissan Skyline Is The First Set With A Drift Function
The Lego Technic 2 Fast 2 Furious Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 launches June 1.
Another Fast & Furious movie is speeding into theaters next year, but this year you can take a trip down memory lane with the Lego 2 Fast 2 Furious Nissan Skyline GT-R R34. Based on the supercar driven by Brian O’Conner (Paul Walker) in the 2003 film, it’s shaping up to be a must-have for Lego collectors and fans of the high-octane movies. Preorders are now open ahead of its release on June 1.
Lego 2 Fast 2 Furious Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 (1,410 pieces)
$140 | Releases June 1
This highly detailed model includes a 6-cylinder engine with moving pistons, three hidden NOS bottles, and a unique drift function that’s the first ever incorporated in a Lego Technic set. This will raise the car up from the ground, allowing you to recreate your favorite scenes from the movie.
The completed model is 16 inches long--so if you plan to use it as a display piece, be sure to clear plenty of space on your table or entertainment center. At 1,410 pieces, it should keep you busy for quite some time.

The Lego Technic 2 Fast 2 Furious Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 is actually the second Lego set based on vehicle. There's also the smaller Lego Speed Champions version of the vehicle that's only 319 pieces. While it's a more compact and less detailed model compared to the upcoming Technic version, it's worth considering if you want a more casual build--especially while it's discounted to just $20 (normally $25) at Amazon.
The new 2 Fast 2 Furious Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 also isn’t the only 2 Fast 2 Furious Lego set arriving on June 1. If you want a companion for the new Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 set, check out the Lego Speed Champions Honda S2000 driven by Suki (Devon Aoki) in the movie. Just like its on-screen counterpart, the car sports a vibrant pink coat of paint and intricate interior details, and the set includes a minifigure of Suki. Preorders are available for $27.
If you're looking for another Lego Technic Fast & Furious set to match the new Skyline GT-R R34, there's 1,077-piece this set based on the Charger driven by Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel). There's also a smaller Lego Speed Champions version that's just 345 pieces and comes with a Dom minifigure. Lego retired both sets a while back, but you can still find both from third-party resellers at Walmart.
We've rounded up all these Lego Fast & Furious sets below. You'll also find a list of Fast & Furious Blu-ray deals if you want to catch up on the action ahead of next year’s Fast 11.
