Last Chance To Claim March's Games With Gold Freebies On Xbox

The Flame in the Flood, Street Power Soccer, and Sacred 2 are available for free as part of March's Games With Gold lineup.

As March comes to a close, don't forget to claim the latest batch of free games for Xbox Live Gold and Game Pass Ultimate subscribers. Three free games are available now: The Flame in the Flood, Street Power Soccer, and SpongeBob's Truth or Square. Street Power Soccer is up for grabs until mid-April, but the other two freebies expire at the end of the day.

The Flame in the Flood is a great survival game set in a post-societal world. It earned a spot on our list of the best survival games. The Flame in the Flood is available to claim until the end of the month.

You can also claim the action-based soccer game Street Power Soccer and SpongeBob's Truth or Square, which has players using Plankton's memory machine to find the formula to the Krabby Patty secret formula. Sacred 2: Fallen Angel was up for grabs during the first half of the month.

If you're an Xbox Game Pass subscriber, you've had even more exciting games to play in March. Earlier this month, a bunch of notable titles joined the subscription service, including Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy and Kentucky Route Zero. Also, the newly released Zelda-like Tunic (which stars an adorable fox) is on Game Pass. If you finish Tunic by the end of the month, you'll have another hotly anticipated indie game to check out. Weird West, an action-RPG published by Devolver Digital, just hit Game Pass today.

Xbox Games With Gold March 2022

  • The Flame in the Flood (March 1-31)
  • Street Power Soccer (March 16-April 15)
  • Sacred 2: Fallen Angel (March 1-15)
  • SpongeBob's Truth or Square (March 16-March 31)

These articles would be better if they included a picture at least, ideally a trailer or gameplay video for each game.

Sacred2 WAS AWESOME! I remember back when we we're always checking to see when Skate-3 would be BackwarsdsCompat i was also checking for Sacred2 & DaunteInferno...

*I own Sacred2 physical for Xbox360 and it came with two huge insert books.

Kinda like Skyrim did with the map..

~The game plays kinda like TitanQuest..

~Sacred fans were pissed when Sacred-3 came out and was a cash grab mediocre game.. I bought it in a bargain bin at the end of the Xbox360 cycle and 70 hours later i was surprised i was still playing it...

Guess im glad people will get to try it & maybe it will gain some remaster or sequel attention..

@sippio: I was huge on Sacred 2 when it came out on the X360.

It was really something.

The only thing what was offturning (aside of framerate drops at that time...wonder how it runs now the Series consoles...i guess i can try it out soon) was the fact that there was no respec back than(at least on the console). If you messed up your skills,it was "delete and start over" lol

I guess that was strangely also the fun part to figure out the best build with least cooldowns for your attack powers. If i remember well,i started my first character six times over heh

Its a real shame that Sacred 2 was also the end of Ascaron and we never got a proper Sacred 3.

Regarding Sacred 3...i think it was not a bad game overall (i had fun with it...),it just wasnt a good Sacred game(no loot,a very limited skilltree).

I completed (1000GS each) Sacred 2+3 games back then.

If this game had another name,it would get a pass i guess.

I have the same stance with Gears Judgement...a good game with a wrong name :-)

What's up with Sacred 2? They put it up a few times now, but I'm always blocked from downloading it.

The Flame in the Flood is absolutely worth EVERYONE'S time. You've never played anything quite like it, but it's very easy to get into.

As always, go in cold. No streams, no videos, no trailers, no spoilers.

@Pyrosa: The game is one of my favorite most hated games ive played.

My god was the game hard..well not hard but more like fast hunger/thirst meters.. The worst crime is the hunger/thirst/sleep meters dont pause while your in inventory screen & the inventory screen was atrocious!!

~But the games music is the best i heard. I never understood gamers wanting a Skyrim or game soundtrack but This soundtrack will stick with people. it did with me.. I wanna say "HotWater Music" but probably wrong..

~Also, the enemies & overall gameplay was good & rafting was fun.

Sadly, even on EASY the things i mentioned ended up killing it for me.

I musta put in bout 25 hours on Steam..

Pyrosa m'Dude, howd you manage that hunger/thirst?

~OhYeah building & catching rabbits to catch wolves was a blast.

not that i mad eit that far more then twice!!

@sippio: IIRC, it took about 3-4 runs to develop "a system." Lots of very thorough scrubbing of as many sites as could be reached. Planned upgrades as a "long game" from the start, and I remember turning HARD on the river to ensure I hit certain types of stops as much as possible.

I can also remember having to just say "nope" when I didn't have what I needed to surviva a site, but that's such a huge waste when it happened. Game isn't forgiving when you need to ward off or distract but you're out of materials.

@Pyrosa: I've never heard of it and no idea what kind of game it is but since you sound so enthusiastic about it I will definitely go take a look at it. Thanks for the heads up. I've been playing an excellent game I had never heard of before signing up for Xbox live for PC, but The Ascent (Released 7/29/2021) is an extremely good game if you don't mind a 3rd person shooter, open world, sometimes puzzler with main and side missions. Maybe give it a look if it sounds like something you're into. I have a lot of fun on it even though I prefer FPSers. To give you an idea of stuff I play, I loved Skyrim back in the day, playing Forza 4 Horizons, but my main love was the original Unreal Tournament. It hooked me on FPS.Played most all CoD games. But I'm always willing to try something different so I'm going to look at your recommendation.

@Barighm: Yes, but... different presentation than anything else. Initially minimalist, but the systems all come together incredibly well.

The ending is mind-blowing. It has a tectonic shift like Subnautica.

@Pyrosa: Never done more than look at the cover art of it, but i will play now based on your comment, complete stranger. I have given similar recommendations of trying certain games cold several times over the years and im pretty sure no one ever does it.

@Cassius103: Always glad to hear any recommendations you/others might have,, and (as I have all GS videos / ads filtered) spoilers are pretty easy to avoid here.

The more obscure the better! (No driving games, no major sports. That's for bar time.)
