Anyone who played the previous game in the series, Hitman Go, will remember how well it distilled that series' most fundamental qualities into an easy to pick-up-and-play turn-based strategy game with elements of puzzle solving. Lara Croft Go uses the same idea, retaining the classic Tomb Raider vibe while adding verticality in stages and new tools, obstacles, and enemies.

When we saw the game at E3, one of our main takeaways was: "There's something special happening in Lara Croft Go, and it's hard to explain without getting your hands on it. It's the same Hitman Go magic, but with a twist that is unmistakably Tomb Raider-y in nature." You can see the title in action above.

Lara Croft Go sells for $4.99, and is available for download on the Apple App Store, Google Play, and Windows phones.

Meanwhile, in news about Lara Croft's bigger console adventure, Square Enix recently announced that the collector's edition for the next game will include a 12" Lara Croft Statue. New gameplay was also recently showcased by Microsoft that revealed a no-kill stealth run of the Gamescom 2015 demo.

Any type of microtransactions in here? Ya, I know it's a paid game, but I've seen those shenanigans before. Just want to make sure before I pop down $5 and then it prompts me to buy extra lives otherwise I have to wait or some other crap.

It stuff that are completely optional. It just a outfit DLC pack for $2, and a hint system for $5 for those that get really stuck (which this game isn't really so hard honestly, and might as well just look at a walkthrough online).
