Killzone: Mercenary developer Guerrilla Cambridge has outlined four upcoming updates for the Vita shooter due between now and mid-2014.

The game's third update should launch in the next few weeks, according to senior producer Mark Green, and offers few changes or additions to the game, but will free up 800mb of space on the user's Vita as it reduces the mammoth size of the game's previous patches--update 2 weighed in at 1.2GB.

Following in January 2014 will be update 4, which aims to improve the game's matchmaking, make it easier to connect to games, and automatically rebalance teams in multiplayer.

The fifth update will add offline bot play for the game's Mercenary and Guerrilla Warfare modes, as well and providing two additional multiplayer maps for free.

Support for the Vita TV will also be arriving in 2014 as part of the game's sixth update.

I'm glad their reducing the update size. Over a gb is just ridiculous for a vita game.

Be wary, for if your toilet is on the 2nd floor, your ability to poop and play KZ might be under jeopardy.

I sure hope the VITA TV support suggests that they do intend to release the device in the west as well.

The Vita is becoming such a cool device that I just wish it had a few more of the games I like and then I could finally get rid of my 3DS. Don't get me wrong, I love both handhelds. But it feels like such a waste owning both. If Monster Hunter was on Vita I would abandon ship right away. But my hopes that MH4 will come to the west have left me clinging.

I could. But the extra money and desk space would be pretty nice. And I don't really have the desire, money, or time to invest in two mobile libraries of games on top of my PC, and also a PS4 if games like Destiny and MGS V remain console exclusives.

Coincidence I fired this up only yesterday for a quick match.

Really need to play this more often.

<< LINK REMOVED >> It's cool that the DLC for both this and it's PS4 big brother are both free. Hope Microsoft are forced into doing the same for some of their games.
