When does InZoi launch?
InZoi is set to release in early access on March 28, 2025, a date confirmed by InZoi director Hyungjun "Kjun" Kim during a discussion on the official InZoi Discord server. This is March 27 in the US.
InZoi was originally slated for release in late 2024, but developer InZoi Studio and publisher Krafton chose to delay the game in order to make sure it's as polished as possible at launch.
InZoi is currently only slated for released on PC for March 27; it's also coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, but there is no release date yet for those platforms.

What platforms is InZoi launching on?
Initially, InZoi will be launching only on PC, but the game's roadmap says Krafton plans to bring the game to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S at a later date.
How much does InZoi cost?
InZoi will cost $40 USD at launch--the same as The Sims 4 base game cost when it launched a decade ago. Krafton has stated that all game updates will be free until the game's official 1.0 version goes live, meaning the game won't be getting any paid DLC until it's truly finished. Krafton currently has at least four free game updates planned for 2025.
Preorder info
Currently, Krafton hasn't shared any information about preordering the game, but eager players can get their hands on a free character-creation demo right now. InZoi is, however, currently available to wishlist on Steam.
What engine was InZoi built on?
InZoi runs on Unreal Engine 5, resulting in stunning visuals, and characters--referred to in-game as Zois--who look realistic rather than cartoonish.

How does InZoi compare to The Sims 4?
While many players are naturally inclined to compare InZoi to The Sims, Kim has emphasized that InZoi isn't out to steal The Sims' thunder.
"We see InZoi not as a competitor to The Sims, but rather as another option that fans of this genre can enjoy," Kim said in February. "We have great respect for the legacy The Sims has built over the years, since we know that reaching that much depth in such a short period of time is no easy task. This is due to the nature of life-sim games which cover the vast and complex concept of 'life,' making it difficult to capture its every aspect."
InZoi does appear to be heavily inspired by The Sims, however. Kim said he and his young son had enjoyed playing a popular life sim--almost certainly The Sims 4--together for months. But one day, in the middle of a gameplay session, Kim's son turned to him and asked, "Are there other games in this genre with the latest graphics?" Since the answer was effectively, "No, not really," Kim decided to make his son's dream a reality.
"Without hesitation, I took on the challenge of creating one myself," Kim said.
InZoi also appears to have a bit of the same wacky whimsy as The Sims franchise. During a pre-launch livestream, Kim quoted Charlie Chaplin, saying, "Life is a tragedy when viewed up close, but a comedy when viewed from a distance." It seems this was the vibe Kim and the rest of the dev team were shooting for while developing InZoi.
But InZoi absolutely has an identity of its own. Unlike The Sims--which has never really acknowledged the player's existence--InZoi makes players themselves a part of the game's premise. Players, referred to in-game as Creators, are new recruits at a business called AR Company. AR Company manages virtual worlds called InZois, and Creators are tasked with managing the lives of each InZoi's inhabitants: Zois.

What gameplay features does InZoi include?
Although Kim and the InZoi team say they aren't trying to compete with The Sims 4, even a passing glance at the game reveals that features-wise, InZOI appears to be beating The Sims at its own game. InZoi will launch with many of the features The Sims 4 was missing at launch, plus some extras. Currently, we know InZoi will launch with the following features:
- An extremely detailed and highly customizable character creator known as the Character Studio
- Detailed clothing and accessory customization
- A portal players can use to upload their creations, and download other players' creations
- Personality traits and life aspirations
- A mode that allows players to build and edit their Zois' homes
- Cars that Zois can drive (and crash!)
- Cats (and several other animals, as seen in the character creator and trailers)
- A city-builder/city-editor with different biomes and aesthetics
- Color and texture customization for Zois' clothes, homes, and possessions
- Careers (ranging from K-Pop idol trainee to firefighter, and everything in-between)
- The ability to sell Zoi-crafted items on the street
- Skills (including cooking, music, and social interaction)
- Weather systems with different effects (Zois can get sick if they're dressed inappropriately for cold weather, for example.)
- Crime (Zois can chase down criminals while working as police officers--or find themselves on the other end of that chase, should they break the law.)
- Interesting POIs for Zois to visit, including a theme park with rideable roller coasters
- A freely roamable city to explore (unlike The Sims 4's lot-locked, loading-screen-heavy exploration mechanic)
- Romance and child-rearing
- The afterlife (Zois can become ghosts, go to Zoi-heaven, and even commune with other Zois who have passed away via one of the game's 16 different ways to die.)
The game likely includes even more features--the ones listed above are just the features we know about. GameSpot took InZoi for a spin during Gamescom 2024, and found the game to be impressive both visually and technically. Our InZoi Early Access review, however, said the game feels "pretty vacant."

Does InZoi use generative AI?
Yes. Krafton and InZoi Studio have revealed that generative AI will be used in InZoi. Specifically, players will have the option of making use of an AI system that turns text prompts into in-game items like clothing, wall, and floor patterns. The game also includes a 3D printer-like feature that will allow players to upload photos of real-life objects and turn them into 3D assets to decorate and use in-game. This particular feature is incredibly detailed, and doesn't just stop at furniture. Players can use the 3D-printing feature to can import items as small as earrings, and attach them to a Zoi's earlobes.
Static objects aren't the only thing players can import, either. Photos and videos can be imported into the game to create special poses or movements for Zois. During a pre-launch preview event, Kim showed off footage of a player dancing in a TikTok-esque video and uploading it to the game. Her Zoi then began replicating the dance, perfectly in sync with the original, Creator-uploaded video.

Regarding the use of generative AI in InZoi, a Krafton developer speaking on the official InZoi Discord said, "All AI features within InZoi utilize proprietary models developed by Krafton, and are trained using solely company-owned and copyright issue-free assets and data. In addition, InZoi's AI capabilities are built into the client as on-device solutions and therefore do not make communications online with external servers."
Can players create LGBTQ+ Zois?
The answer appears to be yes. Though some players who gained access to an early build of the game said they couldn't get Zois of the same gender to express romantic affection, the game's romance options appear to have been updated since them. In fact, one of the first things shown in the recent pre-launch livestream was footage of two female Zois raising two baby-Zois together. (Amusingly, one mother is fast asleep on the couch while her partner stands between their children, face-palming.)

Is InZoi fun to play?
Obviously, there's no objective answer to this question. It's important to remember that InZoi is launching in early access. The version of the game launching on March 27 is not InZoi's final form, and Krafton has released a roadmap that lays out what the future of InZoi will look like. Players can expect four free game updates in 2025 alone, so it's hard to judge the game when it's launching in an unfinished state.
Ultimately, GameSpot's early access review of InZoi gave the game a 6 out of 10--the same score received by The Sims 4 when it launched back in 2014.
