Indiana Jones And The Great Circle Gets Impressive Trailer But Still No Release Date

Get a closer look at the new Indiana Jones game from the developers of the Wolfenstein series.

As part of the Xbox Games Showcase, Microsoft and Machine Games released an impressive new trailer for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. Many were expecting the game to also get a release date during the showcase, but that did not happen. The game remains on track for release in 2024, but Microsoft has not confirmed a release date as of yet--it's rumored to debut in November, however.

The trailer showed Indiana Jones, voiced by Troy Baker, escaping the clutches of his Nazi captors in a scene that looked like it could have come out of the film series. In the sequence, we see Indy and a character named Gina (Alessandra Mastronardi) making a "startling discovery" in the snowy Himalayas. Here's the trailer:

The Great Circle takes place between the events of Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade. Like the movies, the game will tell a globetrotting story that follows Indy facing off against "sinister forces" to try to find the truth behind The Great Circle.

The game is in the works for Xbox Series X|S and PC, and Game Pass subscribers will be able to play it at launch.

This looked and sounded great. I wasn't overly sure about the first trailer we saw although I did like the monologue. This time around I'm way more invested, they really seemed to capture the spirit of Indy and it looks to be our best Indiana Jones outing since the original movie trilogy.

With these games getting better and better narratives I really wish they would offer a movie mode where they combine a cinematic edit of gameplay with the in game cinematics that you can re-watch after you've completed the games. I'm not saying that it's an edit of your actual gameplay because doing that well would be tough, but a shortened tailored version with some decent camera angles that you may not even of had the pleasure of viewing from in game would be great. Before someone says these already exist I'm talking about something that the Devs do properly in house with a little more than just a player view of gameplay or omission there of.

Super psyched.

Impressive? It was one of the least impressive games in the whole presentation. Looked like a PS3 game, along with MGS3.

@mooglestar: You clearly don't know what PS3 games look like.
