GTA Trilogy Removed From PC Store [UPDATE: It's Back]

Imagine being Take 2 and making the money you make with Rockstar and deciding NOT to renew the licensing for song tracks like Billie Jean in Vice City. Are you really this petty that you can't spend your HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS of dollars earned on renewing one of the best songs in the game?

Will I get shot if I say I liked the remaster? GTA SA at least was looking great with the occasional weird NPC face changes, the weird body geometry on some NPCs (Ryder for example) was due to the animations being imported straight from the original, which is great for maintaining the original feeling of the game (you'd hate it if they didn't do so), and both the rain, crashes and any other weird behaviour will get fixed on a later patch, people surprised about this haven't tried playing GTA IV on PC on relase date and forgot the horror show of their excuses for it at the time.

If this game is that bad, Cant wait for RDR

they paid 1 person 50 dollaridoos to remaster these games in 1 week. Inb4 chat is like "acshully" but i dont care, i dont believe you. 1 person did this. if more than 1 person did this, they both should be fired

Couldn't have anything to do with the fact that modders peeled back layers of the code and found lines lifted directly from upscale/high fidelity rendering mods of the originals, huh?

I think we're getting to the point where we need to stop remastering games.

Because a lot of remastering lately has been glitchy, buggy, and worse than the original. Or cost full retail price for a game that's 5 to decade(s) old (Looks at skyward sword remastered).

Look I understand messing up a new video game. Because it's exploring untravelled waters. But these are games that have existed for a while. That they're pretty much being professionally modding to look and feel more modern. There is just no excuse.

Imagine releasing a game so buggy it kills your entire digital client.

The trilogy is a re-butchered version of the mobile versions, which were already butchered versions of the original games. All made by the same third-party developers. R* knew this and couldn't care less.

At this point it's almost a scam of a product. Get a PS2 or an emulator instead.

Modders have done a better job of upgrading these games. This is just a huge ripoff.

When they said "we're keeping the original faces and bodies for nostalgia" or something, warning bells rang. Ie we're not upgrading any textures because we cant for budget or time reasons. I rode my bike and got shot 100 times with no damage in the first ten minutes. What a waste of time. Just remake one at a time like Resident Evil or Mafia. Its a money grab and i wont touch it.

Good ol' corporate bullshit; making money with minimal effort, and always at the consumer's expense.

Step 1: make a remaster that is of low quality.

Step 2: remove other versions of the game that might offer equal or better experiences, especially with mod support that...

Step 3: ...threaten modders with legal action so people that are playing a modded, superior version have to buy the new, inferior version (note: they already own the game, they just don't own the "new improved" version of the game

Step 4: Release the remaster with files the public can't see, either because you don't want them to or because you can't (for legal reasons).

Step 5: ????

Step 6: PROFIT!

Just fyi, it's because those old files contain songs from the original versions of the games, a good number of which have seen their licenses expire and were not renewed.

The Graphics looks bad, driving is so horrible, no more beautiful sunshine in vice city, total disaster, don't touch it.

When PC gamers dig too deep and lead to consequences for their own community. Smh.

I'm eager to see the comparison videos between the definitive edition and the modded versions that they killed off before this release.

Hadn't brought it yet and it is not on my radar yet so no lost. Seems like almost every Dev is having a bad day and it may not get better. So much technology and so many delays these days makes devs from yesterday look like a walk in the park and one would think a delay would be detrimental back then as there was no internet back then.

Interesting how the game is out yet no one is posting a review yet. Review Embargo’s should be banned, so unethical.
