Game Pass Members Can Upgrade To Avowed's $90 Premium Edition For A Fraction Of The Price

Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass members don't have to pay anywhere close to full price for the Premium edition.

Following the successful launch of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, another big RPG--Obsidian's Avowed--launches on February 18. If you're planning to play the game as part of your Game Pass membership but want to play early and get additional bonuses, you can upgrade to the Premium edition at a discount.

The Premium edition sells for $90 and includes five-day early access to the game, two skin packs, and the Avowed digital artbook and soundtrack. Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass members can purchase the $25 Premium upgrade for a $2.50 discount, bringing it down to $22.50.

The existence of the upgrade option isn't new, and some past Xbox games have offered a similar upgrade option as well. But with Avowed launching very soon, it's an important thing to know if you're considering possibly upgrading to the Premium edition.

As a caveat, the Premium upgrade option is only available for Game Pass Ultimate ($20/month) or PC Game Pass ($12/month). Subscribers to Game Pass Standard or Game Pass Core are not eligible, nor is Avowed launching on day one into catalogs included in those membership tiers.

For more, be sure to check out GameSpot's Avowed preorder guide.

In related news, Microsoft offers a 14-day PC Game Pass trial for $1, so anyone taking advantage of that offer could play Avowed for only $1. Microsoft is known to remove this special deal ahead of the launch of a high-profile game, but that hasn't happened yet. There is no $1 trial for Game Pass Ultimate, however.

Avowed is Obsidian's first new release since 2022's Pentiment. It's not Obsidian's only in-development project, either, as the studio is also making The Outer Worlds 2, which is planned for release this year.

Get that Deluxe Scarf! Gives +1 to your style points!

I'll never understand why people get suckered into buying this crap.

A special physical edition makes sense if you like, but we almost never see extras at release that actually matter in-game. When the special edition crap does matter, it's 100% predatory and a cheap cash grab... A character that's part of the story, a actual story mission... Crap like that is dirty pool. I try to wait for the GOTY or Complete edition when games do crap like that.. Get it all for half price next year. Plenty of games to play.

AND STOP PREORDERING!!! JUST STOP IT!!! No one is running out of games in the digital marketplace. Would you preorder a washing machine before it's released? Or a loaf of bread? Hell no! So why preorder a video game... Especially when 90% are distributed digitally... The world gets strange when people behave like fools.

If Microsoft was wise they would delay this game a few weeks due to KD2. they won't though and a few months after avowed's release we will be hearing about how it didn't meet expectations.

wow, everyone should jump on this!!! (I think 3 pings is for sarcasm right? 1 for concern, 2 for alarm, 3 for sarcasm and 4 is for charm)

5 days early access and 2 skins and a digital artbook for 22.50 ... what in the world has happened to gaming, at least starfield premium included the first expansion ... this is just a cash grab now, who would go for this!?
