I feel like FromSoftware games appeal most to people who lack challenges in life (e.g., they still live with mommy and daddy or have no health issues), so they seek them out.

Best level design? Nah, you've just played too few games and are too casual to handle anything beyond a mainstream game.

Best enemy variety? Nah. Even From Software's other games excel better in that department. Dragon's Dogma is superior to all though.

Best boss design? Nah. Nioh 1+2, Ninja Gaiden series, Monster Hunter games, Dragon's Dogma and Metal Gear Rising all have better bosses.

One of the best atmosphere in any game? Like have you seriously not played any other game? Resident Evil and Metro series has atmosphere that blows anything From Software related out of the water.

Hell, speaking of Metro games, there's random nameless NPCs in them with better written dialogue and more depth to them than the entirety of every From Software character put together.

I get you're a From fanboy but you should really try some other games. You'll realise that whilst From Software games are enjoyable, they're nowhere near the best out there. Even in the very genre of Soulslikes: Nioh is better.

From Software games are like Bethesda games at this point. Baby's first steps towards much better games out there and highly overrated by casual gamers who don't know any better. Although in Bethesda's case, their games have never been good.

@BeefoTheBold: yea I hate shit like this. I’ve been using this site for over 20 years. I think it was 2001. It was the first gaming site I ever been on because as soon as my family had enough money to afford dial up internet, i typed in “video game website” on AOL, and Gamespot came up. Throughout the 90’s I’d only read game magazines when my mom told me to the grocery store. So seeing a website like this was like hitting the jackpot.

But it’s really sad how far professional gaming. Journalism in general has fallen. Youtubers are taking their place.

It also references March 22 as a release date without any year, and the article is listed as being published a day ago.

Stuff like this makes me want to seek game news elsewhere… and ive been an active member of this site for decades.
