Free FIFA 14 on Xbox One only with Day One Edition preorders

Microsoft clarifies that bundled copies of FIFA 14 will only come with preorders of a European Xbox One Day One Edition.

Microsoft has clarified that only European preorders of the Xbox One Day One Edition will be eligible for a free copy of FIFA 14 when the console launches this November.

During Gamescom 2013, Microsoft announced that all Xbox One preorders in Europe would receive a download code for the latest iteration of EA's long-running football series.

Microsoft has not confirmed whether a similar promotion will take place in North America.

"Had a few questions on this so wanted to clarify: FIFA 14 will only come free with Xbox One Day One Edition pre-orders, while stocks last," tweeted Xbox community manager Graeme "AceyBongos" Boyd earlier today.

"If you have already preordered a Day One Edition Xbox One, or preorder one from now on while stocks last, you will receive FIFA 14 free."

Amazon UK has currently run out of its current allocation of Day One Edition preorders, but other major retailers still have stock. The Day One Edition of the Xbox One comes with a custom commemorative controller and a code to unlock an exclusive Day One Achievement.

"Another important note--the Day One Edition Xbox One FIFA 14 offer is valid in Europe, this holiday, while stocks last," added Boyd.

The Xbox One will launch this November for £429/€499/$499.

I still dont get the xbox bashing you dont want it dont get it, you want it but dont like it consult a therapist, you are pc master race get over it. The only guys that can really complain about the X1 are fans of microsofts franchises but not the X1, to those wait 2 years and get it cheap

@Ultra_Taco It's their new marketing strategy-instead of trying to compete head-to-head with Nintendo and Sony, they want to create an epic fail they need to recover from, and bungle everything afterwards so you end up feeling sorry for them and buying their stuff. Not sure it's working. Good for the lolz, though.

I'm not ignorant I know all about the idiot communities wasting their lives creating skins, and shirts, and balls, etc,etc, etc just to add pretty graphics to a game which they'll never see because in the gameplay (which is what matters) you can't appreciate a y of that shit. I have ALL consoles and a PC, and the PC version is the SHITTIEST (yes, even with patches). So before calling someone ignorant, I's suggest you stfu next time...

I guess people in Europe and Asia will buy into this latest gimmick. Soccer or 'football' rather, is much popular in Europe & Asia than in North America. Personally, I don't give a 2 cent f**k about the XBONE so this is not news I want to hear.

@starjay009 You assume wrong! You forget that Playstation have an larget audience in Europe then Xbox had last gen. We can't bennefit from any of the TV features and the kinect voice commands only does English which excludes a lot of people. We can still buy PS4 and Fifa and still profit from it.

Your comment is a little offensive since you assume we will buy into it like we're stupid. The only reason any gamer would buy an Xbox would be if it has better games or if all their friends plays on one and they want to play with their friends.

@Nergathh @starjay009 Nergathh speaks the truth-I've met many European folks during my time writing FAQs, and almost all of them use either a PC or PS3. Xbox 360 is relatively uncommon across the pond. If anything, they should be mocking us stupid Americans for buying into Microsoft's crap so eagerly... well, except for the fact that the Xbox 360 was a pretty good console, RROD aside. Still, the Xbone is a turd that just needs to be flushed.

@krystyla Opinions of intelligence are subjective, too. And last I checked, voice commands were only supported in five regions at launch. Kind of symbolic of everything we've learned about the Xbone over the past few months, if you ask me.

Those running the Xbox side of things obviously have a bunker mentality and think the sales will roll in no matter what. They are lucky Nintendo is having a lull. The 360 is a great console but will finished 3rd out of last gen - the XB1 has had a far worse start.

@Pupchu hmmm, this and earlier DLC crap is the things Microsoft has been doing. Hope they don't have to pay a lot of money for those, money could be used for building some exclusive IPs.
