Final Fantasy VII 25th anniversary news is coming next month, according to Square Enix.

During a stream for the Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier mobile battle royale game, director Tetsuya Nomura said that there will be some announcements surrounding Final Fantasy VII in June. This could be a sign that Square Enix could release information about Part 2 of the Final Fantasy VII Remake, as it suggested that the game would be revealed sometime during its anniversary year.

June is also a significant month as it contains showcases and events where E3 traditionally takes place. Summer Game Fest airs on June 9, while the Xbox and Bethesda showcase is on June 12. Though Final Fantasy Remake has not seen an Xbox release, it could be a possibility.

Additionally, Naoki Yoshida said that he'd like to show the new trailer for Final Fantasy XVI soon, and it could be revealed alongside Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 2 news as well. Since Final Fantasy XVI is a timed PlayStation 5 exclusive and Final Fantasy VII Remake is currently a PlayStation console exclusive, they could potentially appear on a future State of Play showcase too.

Final Fantasy VII Remake is available on PlayStation 4 while the enhanced Intergrade version is currently on PlayStation 5 and PC via Epic Games Store.

I have been patiently waiting for anything, and this feels like the perfect time to reveal some info about remakes sequel. Absolutely love the remake and I honestly can't think of anything I am more excited for then to see the story continue.

Please oh please be news on FF7 remake part 2... PLEASE!!!

Final Fantasy remake was my absolute GOTY when it dropped and the second I finished it I couldn't wait to see where the next installment took us (Yes, I know it's story is already out there since it is a remake... thank you 🙄).

FF7 remake was everything a remake of a pivotal title in gaming should be. I know there were some die-hards out there that had a few quibbles with certain things but overall I think what was delivered was a stellar example of what game developers should be aiming for with their attempt at bringing back old games to the modern era.

In fact, just talking about it right now has me all amped up to go play it again. It was that good!

Here's hoping we actually get news and footage of what is around the corner in part 2. 🤞🤞🤞

@videogameninja: Yeah it is by far one of the best games that came out that year, while it had some weakness in certain areas, it was only highlighted by how high they shot for the stars. Just amazing.

Remake.... or 'remake'.... they gave it all to us. I was without a doubt sweating bullets as FF7R kept getting closer, worried they would just destroy a game I relished in for 25yrs. I wrote fanfiction, omg... like 2 dozen stories, a few short stories, I had a website, and a 'chocobo (pic) is my other ride' vinyl sticker on 99' on my first truck. I was complimented by so many people on that. As I saw the trailers, I just kept thinking, they F'd it up, they missed it.

But they did it, it was brilliant. They gave us a remake, and sequel all at once. They allowed the OG 97' to have its place in time, while revisiting the FF7 world and story once again, all with a chocolate coating, that was hiding a sequel. I could not believe The Last of Us beat it out for GOTY. The combat was awesome, just like the OG in most ways that matter, but adding a dynamic layer. Music, ... their music budget has more time, talent, and money -then most entire AAA publishers have in every game they own. I mean SQE should have won an academy award on hiding 'game loading screens' alone!! A high-five hiding a 'game loading screen', kill me now.

Where Nomura and his team are taking FF7R, I am on board, because they like me... are fanatical over FF7.

It probably is part 2 of the remake, but I'm also hoping that an Xbox version is announced. The timed exclusivity ran out a while ago, so it would be cool if it happens.
