Final Fantasy IX confirmed for NA PSN

Lost disc one a while ago so this is good news. bought a new copy of ff7 for £40 and see now that a new copy of 7,8 Y and 9 can set you back £120+. Any chance of this being released before xmas?

Sweet, FFIX is coming out just in time for me to continue my playthrough of the series ^^

@JukedSolid I would have gotten one myself if they had offered EVERY game on psn. Instead, they don't. I hope for your sake they do some day.

I wish Sony knew that not supporting PS2 games on the PS3 is a key factor in me not currently owning one. It's awesome to see that I can play old PS1 games on it though, except to be frank I'd rather play those on my PSP - Cheaper memory cards PLEASE!

@GunGriffin if the PS3 started supporting PS2 games each PS2 game sale could translate into a PS3 game not sold. Not market wise for sony.

Seeing that the new PS3's can't run PS2 games I'd say we won't be seeing downloadable PS2 games anytime soon. Besides, with internet speeds the way they are, who wants to spend 4 hours downloading a 2gig file? And before you say "your internet connection sucks", no kidding! There's two choices in my area; AT&T DSL and Comcast. And Comcast just raised their rates AGAIN! So I'm stuck with AT&T which leaves a lot to be desired.

Well this should make Retro gamers for PSone lovers happy. Vary happy as on the PS3 you can add PS smoothing, as well as upscale the picture to make it look ten times better then it ever did on the PSone. IE 1080pHD with PS smoothing, on top of that don't bother to set it to Wide screen and you will have the best looking PS one game ever built no lie. If only they would do this with PS2 titles, many of which did support WS TVs. Killzone anyone? Shadow of Collossus? Naruto Ultimate Ninja 4? All of those would look great upscaled, and in WS if done right. In fact Sony proved they could do it with God of War Collaction on the PS3. Now they need to do that to all their top selling PS2 games over PSN and they might get some major PS2 gamer cross over sales like with God of War3, Killzone 2, Ratchet and Clank, etc all those games were huge on the PS2 system.

If anyone doesn't feel like waiting, you can get a brand new physical copy on Amazon.com for $15 or straight from Square Enix's online store. Same with Final Fantasy VIII, Chronicles (IV and Chrono Trigger), Anthology (V and VI), as well as Chrono Cross. It's rather amusing for me to see the amount of people who think these games are hard to find.

this is definitely cool that this is coming to NA PS Store. maybe ill pick it up since its not a huge need of mine to be in my collection in disk format but at the price of what will probably be 9.99 ill definitely buy the digital version

The best of the PS1 era FF's is this one. Might get a Ps3 after all.

Finally i'm not really interested in FFIX but since i have FFVII and FFVIII in my PS3 i want to get that one too and complete the PS FF collection.

Why is everyone asking for Vagrant story still? It's been out on the PSN for months. I got it from the aussie one so i can only assume it's on every other countries.

@psx_warrior Yes that's exactly it. It was a birthday present and it's awesome I can play these classic FF games for it but that they don't have one of the best games exclusively for the PSP on the PSN really ticks me off

After playing 7 and 8 I was a little disappointed with 9. Not this time though. I've been waiting ages to give this game the second chance it deserves. Day 1 purchase.

I now have all the reasons (FF) to buy a PSP, and not a modded one or from a pawn shop. I can also put away my PS to the farthest end of the closet (I have a PS2, but if that thing dies i can at least put off a purchase.)

@JukedSolid Are you a PSP Go owner? This is exactly why I didn't get a Go. I'm just curious. That's the complaint most Go owners have is that Crisis Core isn't on PSN.

I'm lovin FF VII on my PSP. PSP was made for games like this.

Do want but can they put some anti alias to it. I have a hard time going back to these PS1/PS2 classics that look like a jumble of pixels.
