Evil Dead director helming Dante's Inferno film - Report
Uruguayan director Fede Alvarez reportedly in talks to direct live-action adaptation of Electronic Arts' 2010 action game.
Evil Dead director Fede Alvarez is in talks to direct a live-action adaptation of Electronic Arts' 2010 action game Dante's Inferno for Universal Pictures, according to Hollywood news site Deadline.
Former Strike Entertainment partners Eric Newman and Marc Abraham are producing the film with EA Entertainment vice president Patrick O'Brien, according to the report.
EA's Dante's Inferno is itself an adaptation of Dante Alighieri's classic Divine Comedy poem, in which Dante must traverse the nine circles of hell to rescue his beloved Beatrice.
Jay Basu (The Dinosaur Project, Fast Girl) wrote the film's most recent script, according to Deadline, taking over the writing reigns from Bruce McKenna (Band of Brothers, The Pacific).
