Check them all out below, and be sure to revisit this page often as we update it with release date changes or release dates for newly announced games coming this year. You can also reference our feature on the game release dates of 2016.
Below you can find a list of the biggest games that don't have explicit release dates but are confirmed to release sometime this year. There are also games listed that we expect to launch in 2017. We'll be moving each of these games into the release date sections above as soon as their official dates are announced.

@saturatedbutter: My guess is, all of them : <. Seriously, though, you can bet that a lot of the games with an unofficial '2017' release date, and some of the games scheduled for a holiday release in 2017 that haven't been delayed before are on the top of that list. Game delays should be less frequent the further along we get into this gen, though, as devs and project managers get a stronger grasp as to what a design cycle takes from start to finish on the new hardware and according to the target of the quality.
A few games missing off that list. And I will believe half of those when I actually see it. With all the push backs who knows how accurate that list really will be. Especially with Cup Head.
@Iamkalell: there isnt even a date on the official site, not to mention they are adding a story mode which means alot more work that wont be possible unless its released unfinished
@haze0986: They're releasing the multi and single player modes separately with the multiplayer releasing first. They've been saying the multiplayer mode will have an early 2017 release with the single player following sometime in the summer. Of course that could always change, and they recently posted a comment on Twitter saying that early '17 might not happen. As far as I know they still expect to get the multiplayer out sometime this year though.
Wondering about Destiny 2. Add more locations, more classes, bigger skill-trees and I'm in. I got a good couple hundred hours out of the first one but when i burned out i burned out HARD. Oh- and they really need to add starfighter combat a-la Halo Reach. I think even many people that didn't like Destiny 1 would agree that the POTENTIAL for greatness exists in the sequel.
@barcaazul: I don't think that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be delayed, RockStar have a reputation for delivering their games when they say they will. Okay, this only has a window of 'Autumn 2017' so far but this has been in the works for a good while already, trust me.
GTA IV definitely got delayed several times and by more than 6 months , and I think GTA V was also delayed. I love Rockstar games, but they don't have the best record of release windows
@barcaazul: That's just not true. As I said below, a couple of games have been delayed by around 6 months but most are released around the window of a few weeks after, if not exactly when planned. Go and do a bit more investigation and you'll see what I mean. RockStar are one of the more reliable developers out there.
@saturatedbutter: @haze0986: Yes, a couple of games have been set back 6 months and a good few are delayed by a few weeks but largely RockStar deliver their games when aimed for. They are certainly more accurate than a lot of developers out there and I have faith that we will see RDR2 by the end of 2017 if not exactly when they state.
Hmm, I hope there's some stuff announced at Pax East then. There's not much of anything of interest in this list for me. I'm sure I'll try a few of them down the line but they don't stand out from the sludge much.
So what's the big exclusives for the PS4 this year? Based on the list above, Persona 5 is the only title that really holds any interest to me. I've heard of Kingdom Hearts so I imagine that'll be a big game for PS4 owners though I don't understand the numbering convention. It looks like there are two games (one's a HD remake) and another is a sequel/part of a finale to the series?
As for Xbox One, Sea of Thieves and Cuphead seem interesting to me. I'm concerned about Cuphead's delays though...it probably starts of good then tails off greatly a few hours in.
@Suaron_x: @Suaron_x: the exclusives I'm Interested in from now until March are Yakuza 0, nioh, nier, horizon, gravity Rush 2, persona 5 (maybe) and mlb 17
@Barighm: I would be interested in that Horizon Zero Dawn thing - looks pretty different and interesting with (so far) nice graphics. Sadly for me I don't have a PS4 so will go on the same list as the UC series and TLOU as "games i'd like to play but probably never will".
But that's ok - I have enough going on with my One so I'm not gonna cry.
@mpl911: Just get a PS4 as well and stop missing out. I got the X1 on release for Dead Rising 3/Forza 5/Titanfall and then bought the PS4 when Bloodborne came out and it's been a blast to experience the offerings for both consoles.
