Looks awesome and I do hope they consider F2P at some stage with microtransactions (they have to make $ after all)

I dont have lots of time to play and paying a monthly fee just doesnt suit someone who could at most squeeze in a day or so a week ...

here's hoping

For all the people who dont know much about this game and are writing it off as another generic, mediocre mmo that will be nothing like TES, read this and maybe you will be a little more intrigued by this game:

You start the game as a prisoner of Daedric Prince Molag Bal, who has stolen your soul and is trying to drag Tamriel into Coldharbour (his plane of Oblivion) using dark anchors. Molag Bal has an agreement with the imperials of cyrodil to help him and his army of undead conquer tamriel. The main story involves you trying to stop this and get your soul back in the process. All the quest NPC's are fully voice acted and give you dialogue options when talking to them. Some NPC's even help you complete quests. IDK about you but this sounds very rich and similar to the single player games to me.

Basic gameplay mechanics are pretty much the exact same as Skyrim: Right click to attack. Hold right click to power attack. Hold left click to block. Hold left click and tap right click to do a shield bash or stun. Kill-moves are in the game (once your skill with that weapon/spell/ability reaches max level). Very non-intrusive HUD (max of six abilities on the hotbar which disappears when not in combat). Abilities and attacks dont have cooldown, instead they use up stamina and magicka just like in other TES games. Sneak is confirmed. TRUE FIRST PERSON MODE (where you can see your hands) is in the game. There is NO heat-sinking so you actually have to aim at what you are attacking. Classes are very loosely based and any class or race can use any weapon/spell/armor in the game.

There will be a crime system. So you can steal items off of tables in NPC buildings. If caught you either pay a fine or go to jail. Lockpicking is also confirmed.

You can explore the entire continent of Tamriel. You can only explore your faction's territory until you reach max level. Upon reaching max level 50 you can choose to explore and quest in one of the other two factions' territories. The quests in this territory will scale to your max level and be much more difficult, consequently giving you better loot. Once you finish everything in the second territory you can then enter the last faction's territory to explore/quest. Here is where you will find the best loot in the game.

The leveling system is very similar to that of Skyrim. When you level up you can invest one point in either health, magicka, or stamina and once point to use in a skill tree of your choice. There are also runes hidden throughout the world. Find 3 runes and you are granted one skill point to use however you want.

The leaked video gameplay confirmed what this game was all along; another generic and uninteresting MMO. I have no idea why they would take this route. MMO's are way too expensive and have a lot more chance to flop than to succeed.

@Fandango_Letho Again, that was BETA FOOTAGE, he was trolling everyone including Zenimax by making the game look as shit as possible. Seriously, judge the game when it's released, not now....

@alpha_unit97 That's what they always say...

If this was ALPHA, MAAAAYBE you'd have an actual argument.

Betas are nearly the finished products. That is the stage when the final features are being implemented, bugs are sorted out and the game is being polished.

That was the beta stage of Elder Scrolls. And it looked terrible.

I have hope they pull this off, but this won't be a Day 1 buy for me. I have very little interest in trying to drag myself into another MMO. After finally dragging myself away from WoW (since Vanilla), and purchasing and not really enjoying Aion, Guild Wars 2, and the CE of SWTO. I'm pretty much sticking with the games I do have (Fallout 3, Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim, Borderland 1 & 2), unless a real gem pops up out of the load of crud put out these days.

@BJCentral Please not! Even discounting graphics and controls, TES is indisputably Best on PC due to its modding. Because of that, I actually don't care if TES games are Xbox exclusive for consoles, despite being a PS owner myself.

@Unfallen_Satan @BJCentral But we're talking about TES online, MMOs never accept mods for obvious reasons. I agree with you, single player TES games wiothout mods cannot be compared to the "real deal".

@Sydrum @Nodashi @Unfallen_Satan @BJCentral I say, they should definately consider a way to allow mods.

Mods were TES's key highlight and selling point. They have been part of the trademark as much as the games themselves.

They should definately consider a system to include modding in some manner, it would be pretty innovative and an amazing way to differentiate this game from the other MMOs and save it from being another generic failure.

Things like quest and map editors, personal armors that you can later sell in the game currency, UI changes... all kinds of stuff.

@Nodashi My, you're right! I completely missed the mark on my comment but I think I am allowed a bit leeway. I didn't even know anybody made MMORPG for consoles.

EDIT: Wait, I just remembered FFXIV that was, then wasn't, then was. Was XI also on PS?

@Nodashi @Unfallen_Satan @BJCentral actually they said that they haven't made a final decision on whether or not to accept mods. If they do allow for modders, they will only be allowed to tweak the ui but still, it would be cool.

@BJCentral Rofl, yea, sure, a MMO in a sub par PC with lame contros scheme. Cause you know the Xbox 360 is a lame PC by today standards, right? And controlling a MMO iwht few buttons suck, too.

I am checking this out for the sole purpose of seeing if that leaked video is actually legit or not. That video was awful.... I really hope that isn't the real thing. It can't be.... It would fail so hard, they may as well cut their losses now and scrap the game.

Here's what this game needs for me to be interested:
1. Option to purchase game time rather than a monthly subscription. I don't want to pay a full month's cost when I can only play a few hours a week.

2. As rich of a storyline as the single player games

3. Similar game mechanics to the other TES games.

But, as none of those are very likely I doubt this game will appeal to me.

Hopefully this gets you interested.

I never had any hope for this game. Nor did I want one. I wanted a Skyrim styled game with 4 player co-op. MMO's cost a bloody fortune and end up flopping more than succeeding... Why do developers take these risks?

It kills me SWTOR cost over 200 million dollars to make and ended up being so average. Could have had the best single player RPG in ages with that production value.

@Adavanter Oh, I so want some current MMO's and coming MMO's to be singleplayer games, but that won't happen and I doubt that the devs would have even been allowed to make a game like that. Could SWToR have been KotOR 3? Could World of Darkness have been VtM: Bloodlines 2? I doubt that publishers would have allowed that. The potential gold mine that MMO's can be is far too tempting.

Besides, who cares about singleplayer anymore. Multiplayer and online games are the new cool, everyone knows that/sarcasm.

Warhammer 40 000: Dark Millennium Online seems like the exception that proves the rule, http://us.gamespot.com/news/warhammer-40k-mmo-no-longer-an-mmo-6368810.
