Driver 2 Pre-orders reach 1 Million

Infogrames has announced that it has received over 1 million preorders for its upcoming PlayStation title Driver 2. The popularity of the original Driver, which has sold over 4 million units worldwide, has sparked the strong demand for Driver 2.

"There is no doubt that consumer enthusiasm continues to grow for Driver 2, and we are excited at the significant level of commitment at the retail level," said Martin Currie, director of marketing for Infogrames. "With an established and dedicated fan base, we hope to take Driver 2 even further into the mass market via a comprehensive marketing campaign that includes a movie trailer-style TV spot and promotional tie-ins with leading beverage and apparel companies."

Driver 2 for the PlayStation will ship on November 14.
