Death Stranding 2: On The Beach Launches In June

Preorders start on March 17.

Sony and Kojima Productions have announced that Death Stranding 2: On the Beach will launch on June 26 for PS5 for $70. Additionally, preorders for the game will start on March 17.

A lengthy 10-minute cinematic trailer was also released, showcasing the original song for the game called "To the Wilder" by the artist Woodkid. The trailer also has shots of the different actors playing the game's characters, including Norman Reedus, Lea Seydoux, George Miller, Troy Baker, Elle Fanning, Fatih Akin, Shioli Kutsuna, Alastair Duncan, Alissa Jung, Nicolas Winding Refn, Lucas Larinelli, and Deborah Wilson.

The end of the trailer, it shows a group of gunman with the narrator talking about how the United Cities of America's predecessor, the United States of America, had a prominent gun culture. It's possible that one of Death's Stranding 2's themes will be about America's culture and fascination with firearms.

Those who preorder Death Stranding 2 will gain an early unlock of the Quokka custom hologram, as well Level 1, 2, and 3 Silver Skeletons: Battle, Boost, and Bokka. These are leg attachments that protagonist Sam Bridges can use to augment his abilities.

The Digital Deluxe Edition includes the full game, 48-hour early access, the Gold version of the aforementioned Skeletons, an early unlock for the Level 1 MP Bullet Machine Gun, and three patches: Patch 70: Quokka, Patch 71: Chiral Feline, and Patch 72: Why Me? It will cost $80.

The Collector's Edition will include everything that the Deluxe Edition had, along with a 15" Magellan Man Statue, 3" Dollman figurine, a few art cards, and a letter from Hideo Kojima, all housed in a collector's box. Unfortunately, this edition will not include a physical copy of the game and will cost $230.

After Death Stranding 2 releases, Kojima Productions will move on to OD and Physint, which Kojima said were impacted by the SAG-AFTRA strike.

Considering the collectors edition, havn't bought one since starcraft 2. This trailer makes the old trailer look like a turd in the water. I'm gonna enjoy this game 100%.

The first game, i hated until about 15 hrs in, and then the game opened up and I played it to death.

Hoping they dont add more fighting stuff. That was the worst part of that game.

There are plenty of great games to enjoy right now, but sometimes I'm bummed remembering that Kojima isn't making anything I'm interested in since leaving Konami. Maybe that new Sony 'Espionage game' he mentioned last year will be good. But this looks awful to me. Nice skyboxes, though.

Guys get ready for delivering package simulator. Game looks awesome graphics wise but still has that boring walking simulator feel to it again. Was hoping it to be more different than the 1st one.

Calling America gun crazy is a warping of the stats. You know who owns more per capita? Gun crazy countries like Canda, Finland, Switzerland, France and territories like the Faulkland Islands.

@loveblanket: translate gun crazy to gun violence. Also, most of the films coming from Finland, Switzerland and France do not contain gun violence compared to American culture and entertainment.

@loveblanket: What's your source on that? Because a quick Google search is showing the US having the most privately owned guns per capita by a large margin.

@mogan: I agree, I believe at study came out about that. Because most potential invading countries were not so much scared by our military but the amount of private firearms that civilians have.

@punkndrublic: I live in a red state with some of the most lenient gun laws in the country, and I can confirm: we've got a lot of guns here. Any occupying military would definitely have a Red Dawn situation on their hands. Probably mixed with Idiocracy.

@mogan: I live in a red state as well and wouldn't have it any other way. I understand they are not for everyone, but protecting my family is number one in my book and I mean that in the most logical way, not acting like I'm going to have a Normandy invasion in my front yard.

@punkndrublic: And its sad that we live in a culture and country where we have to protect our families. We should start with the reasons why this is.

Holy cow! $230 and one doesn't get a physical copy of the game? That's horrible.

The concept of the game (first at least, probably will be the case with sequel as well) was solid, but towards the end it falls flat without any point in why would you spend any time building bridges and roads and infrastructure (which all decayed at fast rate), everything was essentially pointless in seemingly solid open world environment.

I bought the first one used and regretted every minute after the start. One of the most pretentious pos I've suffered through, so I promised myself I'll never touch anything from Kojima ever again.

I loved the first one even if the plot was often bonkers. It was the perfect game if I wanted to chill but also, it has some really high tension moments. Can't wait for this.

The end of the first game made me feel like there was absolutely no payoff to sticking through the whole thing. I’ve mostly blocked it from memory, but I just remember thinking, “What the hell was this? This was pointless.”

Looks good graphics wise. But definitely needs to be different than the 1st one. It's literally a delivering package simulator, it was like couldn't wait for it to end.

Looks spectacular, and one of the best game trailers I've seen in a long time. And FINALLY we see some gameplay and it looks excellent. I'm glad it's coming out so soon. Wouldn't be surprised if this is my GOTY.

Death Stranding was one of the best experience I ever had in a game so I am friggin pre ordering!

Hope there is a physical deluxe edition pre order, dont see it on the PS/Kojima website they only advertise the digital editions.

The trailer is really well made as expected from Kojima Production. 10 mins but felt like its just few mins cause I am so focused into it. Also snake is back lmao.

@sakaixx: I've been playing video games since the 1970's and DS1 was top five all time for me. Truly an incredible experience. I don't pre-order games in general, but I will be making an exception here. I loved the whole concept from start to finish - including the "walking simulator" parts. Discovering new areas and then finding ways to quick-connect them and optimize routes was so satisfying. This game just clicked with my brain in ways most don't. Can't wait.
