Death Stranding 2 Boss Fights Aren't Just Skippable--They're Also Readable

Read-only memories.

Boss fights in Death Stranding were relatively easy, and for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, players will be able to skip them entirely. In a new interview, game director Hideo Kojima spoke about a new feature in the game that will allow players to remove boss fights from the game if they get too tough and read about them instead.

According to a translation by Genki_JPN on X (via Dexerto), Kojima explained on the Koji10 radio show that "there will be an extra option on the game over screen below the 'continue' option," that players can select to skip past these sections and read about the showdown instead.

As mentioned above, boss fights in Death Stranding weren't too challenging if you had the right loadout. Protagonist Sam Porter Bridges amassed an impressive arsenal of weapons to use against the BT entities--which weaponized his blood and other bodily fluids to harm them--and near the end of the game, you would gain access to a rocket launcher that could be used to take down kaiju-sized BTs.

The recent trailers for Death Stranding 2 have suggested that we'll see the scale of these boss fights increase. One of the new BTs glimpsed is essentially a giant gnarled hand that can outrun Sam, and in another scene, Sam's ally Heartman faces off against a truly colossal BT by combining another BT with the DHV Magellan submersible, creating something that looks very similar to the Metal Gear Rex mecha. Considering that Death Stranding 2 has its own Solid Snake--sort of--it's not exactly surprising to see references to Metal Gear Solid in a Hideo Kojima-directed game.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach launches on June 24 for PS5, and it looks like the live-action movie adaptation of this post-apocalyptic series may have just found its director.

I'd rather skip all infiltration and fights, they were annoying in DS without any real reason to be there.. I'm ok with the boss fights though.

Can you skip the boring walking simulator deliveries? Can you just skip the whole "game"?

@neometal89: you can already do that by not playing the game if you believe this to just be a boring walking simulator. No one is putting a gun to your head to play it.

@TruSake: Of course I won't play it, I just wish I had this knowledge for the first one where I wasted 150 hours in it.

@neometal89:

1. even as someone who runs away from trailers and reviews, I knew what kind of game it was. Who buys a game without any basic idea of it?

2. you don't need 150 hours to complete it, far, far from it. Maybe 30?

3. if you don't enjoy something why keep doing it...for 150 hours?!?

I'm surprised you can even read or type with this kind of ... challenged ... condition?

Oh but I'm not gonna skip a single boss. Really awesome looking enemies. Nice option though if you're not into boss battling.
