Dark Reign Expansion Beta Test

Activision is looking for 50 beta testers to try out its upcoming expansion disc for Dark Reign called Rise of the Shadowland, which will go on sale this spring.

The Dark Reign Expansion: Rise of the Shadowland features ten new units as well as 18 new missions in the Dark Reign universe. The new expansion will also include new movies, a musical score, multiplayer maps, conversions, and cooperative multiplayer missions. These cooperative missions will also feature two new sides to the struggle, the Freedom Guard by the Xenites and the Imperium forces with the Imperium Shadowland. With the new expansion, eight-player Internet games will be possible, although Activision requires ISDN "or better" for eight-player games.

If you're lucky enough, however, you can try it out sooner than nearly everyone else. Interested gamers can check out Activision's Dark Reign page on Friday, February 13, at 3:00 PST, and can apply. Ownership of Dark Reign is mandatory and the 50 applicants will be randomly chosen.
