BioWare's Multiplayer PC Game Shadow Realms Canceled

Not a tear was shed...

Actually, it looked dead from the beginning, mainly because nobody (NOBODY) could understand what the game was. Including the devs!

I've never knew this game even existed and from the looks of it, I'm glad I didn't.

Like the Space Terran Marine said in the Spacecraft II teaser a couple of years ago: "It's about time!"

It sounded like crap, and it would be really pathetic for Bioware, once a proud SP developer, to make a online only game.

Seeing as how it would have most probably been seen as an Evolve clone, it's not surprising Bioware are cutting their losses at their earliest convenience. Better cancel the game now than risk a huge flop at release.

Good. I for one am very glad to see Bioware leaning away from some online MMO thing, and focusing more on what they're all about, which is excellent campaigns and story-based decision-making games. Hopefully, this will put even more manpower at the disposal of the Next Mass Effect game.

What a shameful and depressing time it is when we live in a day where gamers rejoice over cancelled games.

No jobs lost is great and honestly what I would want is that MMO to head for consoles. Consoles need MMos badly. they got the power so give them the games.

to be honest i wasn't excited at all when i heard about this and same after seeing some gameplay, i love BioWare but this isn't their scene... and The Old Republic has a big potential, they just need to get their shit together

Holy crap! And here was me thinking this was their biggest project. Wasn't there a huge fuss over preview trailers and a big buzz about what was coming? It did sound to me like it was The Secret World streamlined, but I have to say I'm surprised.

After seeing what they did with Dragon Age Inquisition's crappy PC version, and now this, you can clearly see Bioware doesn't really care about PC that much anymore, so no more of my money on Bioware games, and I was an old school hardcore fan of the company.

Nothing of quality was lost and no f**ks were given.

They showed this off far too early, pretty much just so they had something for E3. EA took the negative feedback and used it as an excuse to put them back to work on that terrible MMO. Still Bioware's previous multiplayer efforts have been serviceable at best so I wasn't expecting great things.

This sounds just like Evolve so I assume they were going for originality but quit once they realized Evolve was coming out..

I miss the old Bioware.

I personally was looking forward to Shadow Realms. I thought it had a great concept and I liked what I had seen of it at their PAX panel when they showed off what they had of it. I'm not even normally into multiplayer games and lean more towards single player, but I thought this one had some good potential. Guess it's another good sounding game going dead before arrival.

Lol jks. Thank Christ for that. This idea was terrible at best. While you're at it, please cancel The Old Republic, and bring back Knight of the Old Republic. SINGLE PLAYER ONLY.

sounds like Evolve beat them to market and they said "frack it"....

Not really since Shadow Realms was just a poorly design cash grab, made by a wannabe "Bioware" Studio, it's not a Bioware unless you have anything to show for it.. no not SWTOR, when the veteran Bioware employee we all know how that turned out.

Good. No one I know wanted to play a MP, non-BioWare type game from BioWare. Stick to what you excel at: single-player RPGs with incredible stories, worlds and characters. MP is the complete opposite of that.

This is a good thing, imo. This game had failure written all over it.
