Retro Atari fans can get a nice discount on a collectible edition of the recently released Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration - Expanded Steelbook Edition. Released last October exclusively for Nintendo Switch, the Steelbook Edition of the massive compilation is on sale for $40 (was $50) at Amazon and Walmart. With the current deal, you'll pay the same price for the Steelbook Edition as you would for the standard edition on Switch.

Along with the fancy case, the Expanded Steelbook Edition comes with the following collectibles shown in the image below:

  • Steelbook Case
  • 3 Miniature Atari Arcade Marquees
  • 3 Double-Sided Atari 2600 Art Cards
  • Al Alcorn Replica Business Card

Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration originally released in 2022. The Expanded Edition adds two new in-game timelines with 39 additional games. The first timeline is The Wider World of Atari, which adds 19 titles and features interviews, vintage ads, historical artifacts, and other details about titles such as Berzerk, Pong, and Breakout.

The second timeline, The First Console War, features 20 new playable games along with six video segments. This timeline looks at the battle between Atari 2600 and Mattel's Intellivision. Included in this timeline are a handful of M Network sports games and interviews from former Intellivision game director, Don Daglow.

All told, you'll get access to over 140 classic games with the Atari 50: Anniversary Celebration Expanded Edition. If you own the original Atari 50: Anniversary Celebration, the new timelines are available as DLC for $14.

The Expanded Edition of Atari 50 also received a physical edition for PS5, but it's only available in standard edition. That said, the PlayStation version is on sale for $34 (was $40).
