Ariana Grande Will Be in a Final Fantasy Game

The "Side To Side" singer has a role in Square Enix's mobile game.

[UPDATE] Gumi, which is collaborating with Square Enix on Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, today officially confirmed Ariana Grande's involvement in the game.

On top of that, Grande's song, "Touch It," is getting a Final Fantasy-style remix. You can hear this song in the trailer above.

Gumi went on to say that more details about Grande's involvement in the game, as well as a "limited-time in-game event," will be discussed in the middle of the month.

Finally, it was confirmed today that Exvius has passed 9 million downloads around the world, not including Japan. To mark the milestone, everyone is getting a "significant boost" for daily log-in bonuses.

Megastar Ariana Grande has a role in a Final Fantasy mobile game. The singer announced on Instagram today that a character based on her will appear in Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, which came out in 2016 for iOS and Android.

"Pretty lil thing holds her own in a room of men in suits ♡," Grande wrote in the caption for the Instagram photo below. "I'm SO so excited to finally share that I'll be featured in FINAL FANTASY BRAVE EXVIUS *crying*"

Regarding her character, Grande said, "It's the cutest thing I've ever seen in my entire life and I'm so excited and in love with it I cannot contain myself."

Grande's character, DW, can be seen in the follow-up Instagram video below. The character is wearing Grande's trademark bunny ears.

Grande played the character Cat Valentine in Nickelodeon's Victorious before breaking out as a massively popular pop singer.

The first question that came to mind was: Why? But an even better question came to me. Does Ariana Grande even know what Final Fantasy is?! Because I'm sure she's only doing this for the money. Also, I have had a history with this awful game. They're not gonna just give her out as a gift to players. No, if you want Ariana f**king Grande in your party THAT bad you're gonna have to grind, spend money, and pull your hair out trying to summon this P.O.S. Oh, and trust me. Summoning her...it won't be that easy. And I'm glad that I have no plans on re-downloading this app to my device. I would rather play Record Keeper (which is no better) and cry over the fact that I will never have a perfect party of husbandos.

@moondoggeo: Why? Free to play mobile game. I thought it was pretty obvious. Kate Upton for Game of War, Arnold Schwarzenegger for Mobile Strike, most recently Steven Seagal for World of Warships, Kim Kardashian's mobile game... etc etc etc. It's not about anything other than getting momos to download something entirely due to a celebrity endorsement or due to flashing a bit of T&A.

This is actually pretty cool and an interesting thing for square enix to decide to do. Looking forward to seeing how they present this in game and if there will be a corresponding event.

All that this turns my stomach(don't like FF but I despise shallow, plastic celebrity sh*t)I entirely understand why they are doing this. It's a mobile game so she will give it penetration to non JRPG fans.
