530,000 PS3s sold in November, half of 360 sales Kinect bundles

I bought my third 360 a month ago. I'm still on my PS3...It's the same reason why last gen PS2 had huge numbers...they kept breaking!

Wow Gamespot what a misleading headline. You put "Microsoft's motion-sensing camera outselling PlayStation Move 5-to-1." in the headline... and then I read "Xbox 360 Kinect console bundles outsold PS3 Move console bundles by more than 5 to 1," in the article. Please fix that.

EVERYONE, pc is the best, it owns every console.

@blackace: At least Move got Killzone3 coming up, not so with Kinect. I'm part of group that will wait and see how KZ3 plays out with Move controls before buying Move. Am not interested in Move or Kinect if they can't add to gameplay in "hardcore" games. Though am more interested in Kinect as a tech and potential for innovative UI uses. Kinect has more non-gaming potential while Move is looking better on games front.

I have both systems but i recently figured out that the reason 360 has more sales is because so many xboxs break and ppl keep on buying new ones... hey its true im on my 3rd 360... ps3 for 2 years so far and is fine. my 360 sounds like crap extremely loud but i still have a pro. As for the Wii witch i have 2 its boring for me now... sooo ya 3DS should be cool though.

Only US sales again? I'm pretty sure it's only wasting our time unless the whole world is taken into account. For example: 360 sells squat in places like Japan, while the PS3 does very well there. But we only get US numbers, where most people have a 360 and play Black Ops...because everybody else does Anyways...the point is...give us whole world sales!

ok. the 360 leading consoles in November- thats not a surprise because of the release of Black Ops, which minus well be a 360 exclusive due to the DLC agreement and the ad agreement. (and honestly, i wouldnt mind because i have other shooters and i refuse to play BO's multiplayer as hacked, glitched and imbalanced as it is, especially for the PS3.) Nintendo Wii? They had Goldeneye, Donkey Kong and Black Friday had a slew of bundles. The PS3 only had Gran Turismo 5 coming out in exclusives which is great that it is able to hold its own against the competition, especially when critics shunned it for foolish things like a poor menu system. After all this, don't throw the war victory parade for the 360 or Wii this year. MS just started with the top sales spots BUT thats only because of their obsessivness with KINECT which might still flop when recipients open it on Christmas morning and figure it out. They had only a few good exclusives to. granted, REACH came and thats the only game you ever need. But still, the year's lineup was extremely lacking. The wii just hit a small high but thats only because of the holidays. itll crash following december. As for the PS3, and not being a fanboy but a large list of great exclusives, excellent online content, and a slew of great games next year continue to make it a freight train in the console arena.

I fill bad for ps3 for making such a wonderful console. I dont know why they didnt make a Ring of fire. I guarantee they will sell like three times more. I have bought like 3 xbox 360 in four years, and 1 ps3 in 4 years. Hmmm…… yeah.

@tKlaus3ffect your comment made me laugh... you guys PS3 fan boys are saying the same thing since 4 years ago when the PS3 was released. "PS3 is going to take down wii and xbox 360!!" "Casual gamers will get bored after a few months" and etc. Well, let me tell you something... it has been 4 years since all the consoles are together in the market and guess what? PS3 is still behind wii and xbox and now with the kinect... good bye PS3... Xbox is going to increase its distance.

Be quiet! The numbers speak for themselves. Sony is losing the war and Nintendo has put all their money on 3DS, leaving the market wide open for Microsoft.

i kinda regret buying the 2 move wands, navi controller and eye hopefully Sorcery will make me feel like 180 bucks wasnt hurled down the drain

Interesting...last month Sony was singing a different tune. Kinect is a success. Color me suprised.

@Dead_or_Alive Okay, you have me at Steel Battalion, but not enough is known about Project Draco. Steel Battalion has decent history, so there's a chance it at least has potential (from an educated assumption). One issue with the Kinect is that it tries to me immersive by having you act naturally in the situation. The way to stay immersed is having your eyes on screen, but being able to move naturally, like wanting to turn the camera a different direction, you move your head to the left. Do this, you see part of you room, breaking immersion. Use a controller, defeats the purpose of Kinect and breaks the immersion that it has the potential for.

Move, we know what to expect. Yes, it's a glorified Wiimote, but the system itself has more power than a Wii, and the backing of publishers that will do more than just shovelware. Totally immersive? No, but can we expect some of the coolest FPS gaming? Probably, if the developers don't fudge things up.

The potential for greatness is in both ideas, but I'll keep with what I said. PS3 has a good headstart. Kinect does have the support of parents who want to please their kids which drives publisher backing, Move has the support of great exclusives which drives profits for Sony and the ability to make better games

Again, the potential for greatness is all there in both systems. I love the Kinect tech and I love the power of the PS3 with the already-well-tested possibilities of the Move.

that's honestly no surprise. the Kinect might be similar to the eyetoy or whatever Sony had before but the Kinect is probably better and has different games. Sony is just putting a ball on a Wii controller and renaming the Wii's games. I'm not saying the Wii is amazing cause it's really not anymore but that's how I feel about Kevin Butler and his stupid Move. plus why don't they use some different names for once instead of Playstation 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and something stupid like the "Move" and let's not forget the basic controller design. they finally figured out how to make control sticks and stuck them on PS1 controllers and then they decided they had to add a home button onto the PS3 controllers just because Xbox 360 does.

Own all 3 current gen consoles, use my 360 the most by a large margin. Have no interest in Move, Kinect or 3D-TV. Pachter is an ego maniac, can't stand him anymore.

It's hard to compare the PS3 and 360. They both are great systems. It just revolves on one's taste for games. No system is "better" than the other.

Most people get 360 cause it was cheaper....period.

I have both consoles and I'm not really interested in either The Move or Kinect. What matters to me is great games and both have great games. But I do prefer Sonys exclusives.

My 360 was awesome from 2006-2009, my PS3 has been awesome since. Both look like they're kind of going a bit too casual though for my liking, but that's the industry I guess... @jbig23 totally had the same experience with my Wii - hardly touched it after the first month - same for everyone I know... I think that's the thing with the 360 and PS3 move/kinnect controllers are they're just that, and the system's future doesn't depend on them BUT they can sell consoles based on them which is good as it's a means to getting them into homes.

i have both ps3 and xbox and i LOVE them both they are both great systems have not had a problem with either one but the only thing i don't like is the xbox controllers. The rubber sticks are cheap and i go through those like crazy change em.

It's funny how all u guys consider your selfs hardcore gamers, when any harcore gamer would know that when it come to the category of retail games there is no contest between ps3 and 360. The ps3 easily has the much better line up of games.Take a look next year ps3 has more than 10 huge exclusives coming out, as a hardcore gamer anyone should realize this, microsoft knows this so in order to compete and try to cover the ps3's dominance of games they make kinect so that the eyes are set on microsoft's 360 again and more casual gamers will find them selves busy, but the hardcore gamers should realize and stop being fanboys, ps3 has the quality with quantity and that what matter because a console is meant to play games first more then anything else live may be good but you need games to support thats why i went and got a ps3 after not being satisfied with the 360's gaming lineup..I hope u all understand

@ahnzz congrats to microsoft, that didnt mean i bought Kinect, instead im planning on getting move, im afraid if i get kinect, ill play it for a couple of weeks and stop and not play for like months ***************************************************************** That could easily happen with the Move, considering it only has one game worth playing. When you're done with Sports Champions, pick up a Kinect and experience something .

@Philly1UPer and besides, if you are a true gamer you would know that, Nintendo and Microsoft actually copied Sonys idea of motion gaming when Sony first tried to introduce it on the PS2 with the Eyetoy....not the other way around kiddies. *************************************************************** No one copied the @#$% EyeToy. The EyeToy doesn't use a remote or nunchuk to control action on the screen. It doesn't have 3 camera or do fully body scanning. It also can't scan object into a game. The EyeToy is like a VHS, while the Kinect is like a Blu-Ray. It's so far ahead of the EyeToy it isn't funny. Sony has copied just about everything from Nintendo & Microsoft over that last 15 years. From the D-Pad, Analog stick and rumble feature to the Home button and achievements. All 3 companies have copied each other over the last 8 -15 years. The Kinect is not the EyeToy however.

Hmm....never really see Gamespot talking about Microsofts abysmal sales in Japan for their console. No biggie, I own a PS3, I really enjoy the reliable hardware and being able to play my games online for free. 360 is a good console, I use to own one...but gave up on it after my 4th purchase of it died. I dont understand this contoller-free gaming craze and how its supposed to be superior. In a racing game, If you asked me which periphial I would use, between Kinect and a Logitech steering wheel, then I would pick the steering wheel everytime becuase in real life, we use steering wheels to drive. Oh well, thats how I feel about Kinect, I dont think that this is a huge improvement to gaming in general, but the casuals Im sure will enjoy it. Looks like Microsoft has done a good job reaching that casual market they were targeting.

gamespot is a fanboy... i have no respect for gamespot because this is the tenth time they said xbox360 has better sales

As a PS3 owner, I'll admit, I'm saddened by this news. While I believe the PS3 is a worthy and great console, it just hasn't made its dent in the U.S. like it could have. That's unfortunate. Once the ruler of the console wars, not it has been relegated to third place. What's more sad to me is that the Wii is in first place.

@taisui: i think that i was clear in my previous post, but no, i don't own an xbox. i said that i didn't hesitate when i bought my ps3 and i haven't bought a xbox since then. but if you read my previous posts, you can also see that i'm not bashing xbox, and i'm not saying that it is a bad system, i just said that, between both systems, i don't see any reason why buying a 360, but that's my point of view and everyone is entitled to theirs. but when i choose one, i made my choice not having either. i went for ps3 because it sounded better to me. and i'm not supporting ps3 because i have one, i support ps3 because i think it has best games and is generally better. that's why i bought it. an opinion shared by the highest amount of people doesn't make it "more correct" than the others. its just an opinion. and another curious thing: some posts seem like a clash between ps3 team and 360 team. that's not what this is about

I think the biggest mistake sony made was copying the wii mote. Everyone here knows what it was like including me when they first held that wii mote in their hands. I thought to myself OMG this is the coolest thing ever, it was a new experience like nothing before. But after a month the wii was in the closet then i sold it. The move is better than the wii mote, but its the same, when i first held the move along with half of the world which seems to own a wii, i guess we all most likely thought the same thing, ok this is good but its been done nothing special. Microsoft is smart, why give people something they already experience lets give them something completely new. and the people is eating it up. i go to best buy and see people faces when they try the kinect for the first time same face i had when i first tried the wii. OMG this is the coolest thing, never had anything like this before. I watched a little kid play the move in best buy and say moomy i want this, his mother looked at it and said you already got this at home am not buying you the same thing. Kinect maybe go the way of the wii, but for now suck or not its giving people that new experience they never had before like that first time they held the wii mote.

@user_pt, Gamespot rated 156 Xbox 360 games at 8.0 or above, while it's only 137 for the PS3. Objectively, this means the Xbox 360 has more cool games than the PS3, which is not just "your" opinion. Do you even own a 360?

I am not trying to bash Xbox because I respect other people's decision to have it but, Most of Xbox360's recent sales have come from the Kinect. I don't get whats the point of kicking aimlessly pretending to play soccer. If you want to kick that bad go play some soccer. A soccer ball is not that much. I say just stick to playing the game with an actual controller. There is a difference from playing Fifa 11 and soccer on Kinect sports. If you really want to kick that much go do the actual thing........

yeah greyfox327 I sorta agree with you.. I did end up buying the ps3 slim but I kinda wished I saved my money.. becuase I hardly ever ues it with my PC and 360 taking up most of the time,

@user pt: Huh. With me it's the complete opposite. I only know one person who has a PS3, while everyone else has a 360. Honestly, you'll pretty much stick with whatever console you have once you make a decision. I have no interest in buying a PS3 for $300, not because it's a bad console, but because it doesn't offer enough of a difference. I don't care about Blu-Ray, Heavy Rain or other exclusive features. The only games that interest me are MGS4, the Uncharted games, and maybe 3D Dot Game Heroes. (I think that's what it's called.) That's not enough for me to pay $300 for a system I otherwise wouldn't play. Which I'm sure applies to you concerning the 360.
