530,000 PS3s sold in November, half of 360 sales Kinect bundles

Who cares why they're outselling. What I do know I have 2 DEAD xbox360's RROD. One of them bought on launch date, the other 2 years later. Piece of $#!t I have 3 PS3's, all bought on launch date. All 3 work. :-) play online with no cost too. Wrote to microsoft an got ignored. Very disappointed. True Story. Can I sue them? I have over 40 xbox360 games that are worthless now. Will buy move.

not too surprising, Sony has really dropped the ball with this generation of consoles... don't get me wrong, the hardware is fantastic, and it has a pretty good lineup of games, but the marketing and the price for this console was a huge mistake... a simple look at console history will show that every 'high end' (expensive) console has sold poorly compared to the competition.

The reason why the figures are so is because of the game lineup. The Kinect is clearly meant for casual gaming. No way in hell you'd play something like Halo or Gears on the Kinect, just takes away all the fun. With a game lineup that cater to the kind of game the hardware is intended for, of course Kinect is gona do well, and as much as the Sony fanboy in me scream otherwise, I gota say, congrats! The Move, however, is meant for both casual and hardcore gaming. With an user base made up of largely hardcore gamers but a lineup of casual Move games, it's only right that the sale are disappointing. Once games like KZ3, inFamous 2, SOCOM and other hardcore Move titles are released, we'd no doubt see an increase in sale

Fanboyisms aside, it's not hard to see that Kinect as a piece of hardware is vastly superior, but it's success will be dictated by how good the software will be, so far the games look a bit lame IMHO, but it's early days, and again it's not hard to see that the PS3 move will fail big time, the folks at Sony don't have a clue really. They need to think ahead, way ahead, in order to beat the competish. It's like the bluray thing, none cares about it and the future will be discless anyway, anyone can see that. MS knew this, hence them putting more efforts into the digital services and XBox Live store. Sack the managers at Sony and put me in charge for god sake, LOL!

Even though I like PS3 more than Xbox since I like free internet. That Kinect thing really intrigues me. After trying both peripherals out I like Kinect better than Move, but its all personal preference. I also feels that Kinect has a stronger software support than Move Dance Central is really fun. I feel like Move is just an upgrade wii-mote and Kinect is original. Too bad I sold my old 360 b/c of RRoD. Now that I might pick up a Kinect bundle to go with my ps3. I hope I have enough mula to get one this Christmas... wish me luck...

I'm happy to see that the public has embraced the Kinect.. it really is a fun addition to the Xbox 360 and I look forward to see what becomes of it in 2011. But I don't think Sony has anything to worry about at this point.. 2011 is going to be THE year to own a PS3 with exclusives like LittleBigPlanet 2, Killzone 3, DC Universe Online, Twisted Metal and Uncharted 3 coming out. It also helps that Sony is adding Move support to most of it's games, as well. Kinect was a day one purchase, but I know I'll be getting the Move bundle this Christmas.

I say good for Microsoft for innovating a little and not copying Nintendo straight up like Sony basically did.

@trickyspider Do some research before talking rubbish, recent surveys put the old Xbox failure rate at 42% overall, the new slims are said to be on par with the PS3. As for people "BUYING" new 360's when an old one dies, that's fanboy dribble, MS has a 3 year warranty and will fix or replace in that time so why would anyone buy a new one. I just hope my PS3 slim doesn't die because Sony isn't well known for it's customer support.

Hooray for Microsoft! I'm happy because money and free waffles come out of my Xbox 360 when Microsoft "beats" Sony at something.

I love the constant arguing between microsoft and sony fanboys. I happen to love Sony's console and it's just through history really that I've never been let down by one of their products. Microsoft Kinect is selling more initially due to it being a new craze. It may be a modern, more advanced eye toy but people will buy it because it's for the younger generation and an exciting prospect. I believe Move will sell well when the games that use it are released. Killzone 3 will use it well and I think this will boost sales. But at the end of the day if the games aren't good enough both will fail. I think Sony have got an extremely strong lineup of games for 2011 with Little Big Planet 2, Killzone 3, Resistance 3, Uncharted 3, The Last Guardian, Infamous 2, Twisted Metal. They are trying to bring it with top AAA titles and Microsoft have got to react to this and up their game with top exclusives and who wins in all this, it's us the consumers. So whether you love XBox or PS3 we are all going to have a great year in 2011 I feel.

I think it's indeed due to the X360 high failure rate that it sells. Xbox broke down, need new one, buy with kinect...

I am getting both the Move and Kinect. The Kinect will be used to play party games and so I can be lazy in controlling my X-Box. The move will be for gaming. Look at the games that are out for both systems, the games that gamers want to play will come out on the Move due to the buttons. If the kinnect brings out something with a button or a peddle then it will be brilliant. CoD will just feel wierd using a hand as a gun, however I am looking forward to playing Time Crisis. But to keep it on topic I wold like to know what would it have been like if Sony brought out a Move bundle.

why is everyone defending (or dissing) this as if their very lives were always at stake. Unless this is your source of income, just worry about the system(s) you own. YOURS! I don't understand why people need to waste energy on what the nation buys in the month of November....idiots.

its only gonna get worse... trust me when more games that can only be done on kinect start cmoing out, kinect will sell better and better. sony better hope 3D can help them with move because they are in real trouble imo. something selling this well with no good core games yet must be driving the sony camp crazy right now. i`ll bet you 100 bucks that sony has some kind of new cam in the works that will allow move to match what kinect can do.

It's extremely amusing how people feel the need to explain the reason for the Move sales with all their might. People just need to accept the fact that the Kinect is selling better. There is no explanation to it, it's just selling better. Fanboys need to quit their whining.

well done microsoft, i guess they won this round. I think in the long run the move has a better chance of doing well since ther is a limit to what games can be made on the kinect due to lack of buttons... maybe im wrong but i just dont see any rpg, fps, survival horror ect working with the kinect? I think this battle is far from over. Im interested to see what both companies will do with there gadgets next year!

Kinect is an updated version of the ps2 eyetoy!! So I guess sony was the first to introduce motion gaming to consoles unless there was something before that.

i guess that since most people seem to be hype up about kinect before simply because it microsoft (i actually believe if move was made my microsoft the sale would be very similar). though i been trying to get my hands on a 360 holiday bundle or a 250g kinect bundle since my house was rob but i didnt think it be like the wii all over again where it hard to find them.

lol these ps3 fans are very amusing. like julianseamen420, i am sure he uses the red ring of death for every argument, as if the ps3 does not experience hardware failures also. i know a couple of people, and their ps3 spoiled more times than my 360 ever did. you just need to take care of your equipment and you should be fine. also the red ring of death is no longer an issue with the new models of 360, starting from the jasper model to the new valhala model. but its funny how these ps3 fans criticize the 360 when sony keeps releasing updates that constantly takes away functionality from the ps3, other os function no where to be found. the reason why kinect is selling better than the move is because the kinect is not a rip off of the wii mote and nunchuck. the kinect feels different and its original in design , you actually feel like you are in the game and you get a good workout at the same time. as for exclusive titles gears of war 3 is not the only 360 exclusive game of next year, there are others including the kinect exclusives coming out. the way in which the game industry is headed most games will eventually become multiplatform anyway, kinect is the only system that will offer a unique style of gameplay and be original at the same time.

Theyre selling 5-1 cause its peoples 3 or 4th xbox. Everyone that have bought a PS3 have only had to buy one.

i'm not really understanding why everyone is saying this console or that console... i buy sony because i want quality... same reason for mac... i buy apple products for quality... i want true hi-def (since blu ray is the only true hi def medium, 360 upscales to 1080i... read reports for info) so i got ps3... my roommate has to pay $60 a year to play live while for PSN i pay nothing... i personally like the game exclusives on ps3 better than 360 (GT5, MGS4, ect.) both systems are good but i like ps3 much better

Yeah well i had 4 360's in 2 yrs from RROD. 2 that i bought and 2 new 360 thats MS sent me they all RROD.. PS3 all the way. I bought a PS3 2 yrs ago after giving up on MS and yetr i still have my PS3 and have had no problems with it.

@NeonNinja ikr? rr hasn't been valid for a few years now and the E74 or whatever error only effected a few consoles before the slim was even out anyway. you'd think they'd be smart enough to know the reason people are buying is because both the wii and 360 are $100 or more cheaper than the ps3 who's main advertising bundle is buying it with an over priced tv D:

It's such a juvenile argument to think that a publisher offers a free repair service for all consoles, essentially rendering the RROD useless after it's repaired for free that people who have a 360 would keep buying one. What's worse is that you're not the only person to think like that. Would it be too much to say "I guess people like the Xbox." I have a roommate who has had to buy multiple 360's cause they kept breaking on him... He is now on his 4th system (big halo fan). While I am still on my 1st ps3, and still going strong!!! :D

@ryzrocks those wouldn't effect the console sales too much since most people who would play them already own a ps3. it'd be more likely that those games would sell more moves considering most of those require it to play.

Huge win for X360

wow can't believe how many black friday sales they had. not surprised though considering ms spent so much on marketing theres no way someone wouldn't know about the kinect. and with most of the games targeting casuals/little kids with kinectimals it shouldn't be that much of a shock. the wii sold well because of it being so cheap as well as all the bundles like dk kirby ect. i mean for 100$ plus a game its not hard to splurge on a wii compared to 200 -300 or 400 for the other console bundles.

2011 is the year of the ps3, so I expect alot more sales for that year

Sony doesnt need to report its console sales cause everyone who owns or is thinking bout buying a PS3 knows its the best console on the market. Sony has the console that has been named by all PS3 owners " Our consoles dont fail". The ****box's have been known to RROD an E74 Error and i might add the Slim have both of these problems. Sony will always be on top. PS3 had a slow start 5 yrs ago but look at it now. 2011 is all bout PS3 exclusives. What does MS have in 2011 oh yeah NADA. The only exclusive MS has for 2011 is Gears 3.

Mark my word....as soon as it hits 2011...and all these great games release -Killzone 3 -Uncharted 3 -Infamous 2 -The Last Guardian -Resistance 3 -Twisted Metal PS3 sales will go off the roof....my friend just wait and hear the winds of change :D

im pretty sure if it was world sales, because if you havent already figured it out, PS3 outsells XBOX360 pretty everywhere except USA and Canada. this would look a little different, but w/e, I GUESS USA is all that is important*heavy sarcasm*
