530,000 PS3s sold in November, half of 360 sales Kinect bundles

@frazzle00 Continued..The Move is a improved Wii controller; just as Kinect is an improved Eyetoy. The idea behind Eyetoy is the same as Kinect. Kinect does offer much better ways to track, which is why it is an improvement, but it still uses the same concept. The 360 doesn't have a very strong exclusive game lineup for 2011. There are a few like Gear of War 3, but for the most part it is looking to be one of the weakest years for the 360 in terms of solid exclusives. Since many of the past exclusives have eventually made their way over to PS3 or are also on PC so not actually exclusives. As a PC gamer many of the 360 "exclusives" are on PC where it is far superior anyways. Short of the few like new Gears and new Halo there aren't lots. I own all three systems, but these days my PS3 sees more play mainly because when I take a break from my PC only on my PS3 can I play games like Heavy Rain of God of War. The last I did on my 360 was indie games and Alan Wake. There just isn't lots of reason to play on a 360 over my PC.

@frazzle00 I'm sure you haven't used Move with a shooter but it is better than one would think. Yes, many probably won't choose to use it always, but I'm confident that many will use it because it can offer the quick and precise movement that a mouse can deliver. Heavy Rain is an example of a game that is actually better with the Move and that is defiantly a core game. Even if Kinect can offer more core experiences that aren't shooter related it won't help. The vast majority of 360 gamers are either casual or die hard shooter fans; because shooters are what do well on the 360. The PS3 is the system that offers the more diverse genres. The average 360 gamer isn't interested in adventure games it it isn't a shooter. Which is why traditional RPG have gone away. RPGs take the form of games like Mass Effect, which is a great game but more shooter than RPG. Fact is that if Kinect doesn't get more quality titles launched then it is going to go downhill very fast and Microsoft put all their eggs in one basket so it will be a big hit if it goes down. We have seen many great games for the Wii that center around motion which means that the Move is capable of it also.

oh for the record: year of the playstation? sarcasm. it wont happen. killer apps are done and dusted now. the move is great for time crisis but I have no illusions about why i bought move. I just wanted super accurate guns for gun games. I know thats crazy and time crisis got poor reviews but it really is good. cant wait for child of eden with kinect.... will be incredible

hmmm indeed. this is the year of the playstation indeed. one eyed fanboys have been saying year after year: 'just wait till next year' owning both a ps3 and a 360 i find it all very amusing. i wont buy into the war, but always get a kick out of the posts and watching the ball go back and fourth. oh, i bought both move and kinect too. move is hyper sensetive and is so perfect for time crisis. kinect is just plain fun. dance central is a riot and even crappy kinect adventures is way better than it looks.

I bought it with the Marvel-FIFA combo with the HDMI port, and it has been running perfectly... finished, DMC 4, NG 2, GOW, GOW2, RE 5, AC, AC2, ACB, etc, etc, etc... Well... may be it could be that I'm lucky and you don't, because the slim one is my second Xbox 360 and both are running fine. The funny thing here is... why do you bought the Elite edition if you hate Xbox 360? are you going to buy the slim edition with kinect also just because you hate it that much? Raptors_81 I know plenty of bout RROD. I suffered it 4 times with 4 consoles. my 4 360's' were always in a ventalated area's with fans goin. So next time dont send me a message sayin learn the facts. I know all i need to know bout ****box. I bought a 360 @ Launch it RROD within 5 months,MS sent me a new one it RROD, they sent anougher it RROD, in 2008 i bought a Elite it had E74 within 4 months. Your lying when you say ur 2007 360 never RROD or had any problems. I did everything right and they all RROD'd. You still think 360 is the best? I didnt think so

Motion sensing is a joke in general and damn even if I'm the minority, I love Sony and the PS3 so much it's not even funny!

all i have to say that IF im actually going to buy a motion sensing peripheral im gonna go with the most precise one and thats the move, btw i have all three consoles with the ps3 bein my favorite by far and ive put a couple hundred hours at least into all @GTA_fan999: couldnt have put it better myself

@frazzle00 Appeal to casual crowds through party minigame collections and dance titles aren't much of an innovation. So far neither the Move or Kinect has brought much to the table. Kinect doesn't have any quality games for core gamers currently released or even planned for release. There was the Star Wars game mentioned but that really didn't look that great from what we saw. It seemed to play out like an on rail game. Move has lots of crap titles also, but at least it supports some good games like RE5, Heavr Rain, Mag, and a few more great games to release early next year. Though Wii still remains on top in terms of quality games for motion gaming. Though the Nintendo market is saturated with garbage there is still more good games, but after four years it should be expected to be on top. Ultimately you are just a fanboy saying things to justify your purchase and blindly except whatever they make to feel better about yourself and Microsoft as a whole. Microsoft really didn't create the godly product you make it out to be. Unless there are some real quality games released by the first half of 2011 then the Kinect will be left behind just like the Eyetoy. @GTA_fan999 That may be true little but more specifically and a little less crude, Sony doesn't push the casual audience as hard as everyone else so it is no surprise their attempts to get in the casual crowd aren't as successful.

@blackace Trust me I've had a PS1 and PS2 :D I have over 200 games still for the PS1 and like I said earlier nothing from Sony has let me down or broken on me. I look after my hardware though and always clear dust and treat it with care. I just love games and have done since the mid 80s. I love games more than anything and like I said below if either Sony or Microsoft's console didn't exist we'd be missing out because it's competition between the two that gets us the AAA exclusives. Without games like Killzone 2, XBox exclusives like Halo wouldn't have to be made as well as they are. Competition drives the world and gamers are the winners each year.

I love all the consoles. None are perfect. Each comes with a slew of amazing exclusive games. Enjoy playing the games and send all the negative feedback constructively back to all the gaming companies to help better their products rather than wasting all this energy trying to convince one another which console is better.

@Rikudo-Pein, i agree Why doesn't anyone ever mention on any site the fact that the 360 is cheaper than the PS3; the 360 losing would say more than a PS3 being behind on sales. People like lower costs. I have a PS3 however.

@-Snooze- Nope my facts are right. Sony and Philips made Blu-ray. Besides The only thing i care about is games not how Sony or M$ is doing in sales. At the end of the day PS3 gamers have a great list of wonderful exclusives that should make us 4get about any other game of that year. And as you stated in you previouse comment that you have a PS3 as well, you should be happy instead of going all 360 fanboy on me. Peace is for the gamers and the games they play. War is for Sony, M$ & Nintendo fighting for your money. :D

@Kid2812 ...you forgot to mention... Sony invented the Walkman, and they make Digital camera's made Beta Tapes which were a superior format and only lost out to VHS because it's what the porn industry supported. I don't understand why people get so worked up about the competition between companies, there are some Xbox games that I would love to play I happen to prefer Sony as a brand and so I play the PS3 equivolents instead.

@Kid2812 Now i'm confused. I was under the impression we were talking about the PS3 and Xbox, and at the very least the gaming branches of each very large company. That being said i'm, yet to say anything which isnt fact. Fact - Sony lost tons of money on the PS3. You however seem to enjoy making things up, such as "Sony created Blu-Ray" Did they ...really? Perhaps YOU should do some research my friend.

@-Snooze- Sony is a Technology company. They created Blue-ray. They make movies. They have a Record company. They make phones. They make TV and 3D TV. And more. Sony isnt doing bad, they are doing great. If Sony was losing money then they would charge for online. Sony doesnt just make games they make almost everything in technology, fashion and entertainment. Do some research before making such a random WRONG comment

@Kid2812 Funny thing is that SONY historically put aside huge amounts for advertising, especially in the PS2 era. Advertisement isn't brainwashing, it just creates excitement and makes people aware. Atleast MS are smart enough to advertise there games to make a maximum profit. I guess that why SONY have lost SO SO SO much money this gen :)

Who cares what others enjoy? It's what you enjoy that should matter to you. Strong sales or not it doesn't really matter.

@jawehawk-DK Yeah and I could say Sony copied the Eye Toy from the GameBoy camera. What I don't get is that I complemented Microsoft and get called a fan boy. Either way this is good news for Sony and the PS3 proving that in the long run the PS3 will both outlast and out-perform it's rivals by a significant margin. Wheras the 360 has already reached the point of stagnation from a technology and therefore games design point of view the PS3 still has a long way to go before it becomes obsolete. Interesting in all cases to see sales so high after against such a turbulent economic background.

Not a big suprise, Xbox360 is strongest in the US, while in Europe and Japan the PS3 is selling the most. But so what? What kind of value do you get from those news?

I'm really anxious for 2011, my PS3 may never turn off!

Don't care about the sales at all. I enjoy my Xbox 360, and hope to get a PS3 someday.

@Kid2812 History would suggest otherwise. Not to mention the fact that Gears being MS' "only exclusive" means it'll get the advertising budget to rival God, furthering it's record breaking first day sales. I'd imagine Gears will sell more in one day then Uncharted will in a week.

@Kid2812 Gears will outsell Uncharted just like gears 1 and 2 outsold both Uncharteds ... Also, Multiplats are mainly better ... There are tons of excellent multiplats games out next year. Not to mention I own a PS3, PC, DS, Wii, PSP to go along with my Xbox

Who cares, just make good games. Sony is making money from ps3, microsoft is making money from 360, nintendo making money from ds and wii, whatever. Make some dang games. Ps Move? Kinect? No games = no one cares.
