A SIMPLE 3rd person shooter. IF you like brainless shooting of endless enemies, this is for you.
Positives:
No learning curve whatsoever- just blast and run forward.
Negatives:
Nothing new. Get's boring before completing the game. This was better back in the late 90's (even though it wasn't released until 2003.)
STORY:
Something about how you are Roman, have a few funny looking team mates, and are trying to kill and blow up everything. What reason would you need for that?
GRAPHICS:
Actually not too bad. Of course, I'm assuming you are running this on a new computer; which can run the highest settings. Colors are actually very impressive and the characters and environments are detailed.
SOUND AND MUSIC:
Sound effects are impacting: plenty of real gunfire and explosive sounds abound. Voices are on the humorous side, but not in an annoying way. Music doesn't stand out, but does not get in the way either. Whatever.
GAMEPLAY:
Like you would guess, the game is linear, so you are limited to going one direction and playing one way- there are no options for exploration. This is a third person shooter where you have a few team mates that also like to blow up everything. Fun. At least the weapons are very original and fun to watch. The Shark Gun is my all time favorite weapon- of any game I've ever played. You point the gun at your victim, and watch a huge Great White Shark swim towards him, and viciously attack and eat him. Enemies come at you in all directions, and seem to re spawn (even though they don't.) Also, there is PLENTY of ammo throughout the levels, so you usually don't have to worry about running out. The cut scenes are another area that makes this game unique. Expect a lot of
humor: some good, some not so good.
MULTIPLAYER:
None. No one really cares. Stick to 1st person shooters for Multiplayer experiences.
TIPS:
*Just blast and run. Or, you can stand back and take out enemies one by one with accuracy. Like Burger King, you can "have it your way."
*Don't be afraid to use your weapons- there is plenty of ammo everywhere.
SUMMARY:
Don't set your expectations high, or expect a cerebral or enlightening journey, and you won't be disappointed. About as fun and brainless as a Rambo sequel.
