A game that makes you lose tracking of the time!
User Rating: 7.7 | Animal Crossing GC
Yes, I often found myself telling myself :"Why not spend a couple of minute doing 2-3 tasks in Animal Crossing..." and then realising I'm still playing it like 2 hours later. This game is not in itself a game actually. It is all about doing some tasks, chores and helping people around your puny town. It's a kind of Harvest Moon of its own! (Isn't it stupid how we hate to do our own chores and enjoy doing it in games! lol...) This little game here is a game that is to be taken lightly. I liked it from the very first time I played it cause I knew what it was about and was not awaiting anything else. If you liked The Sims, Harvest Moon etc... I think you'll love this game too. This game will get you back to your Gamecube daily cause things change everyday! That's what's amazing. Time flow in this game just like it does realtime. If you intend to play Animal Crossing at 2 am, then you're screwed cause everyone in your town will be sleeping. Now here's the bests and worst of Animal Crossing. Best things are of course its diversity, there's loads of objects, and some of them are rare so it gives this game a *collectible* gaming experience. Everything in your town changes realtime, people move in, move out, etc... Worst things are that first, it shows a lot that this game was first intented for Nintendo64 since the graphics aren't much like the Gamecube's graphics we're used to see. And I think that what will make this game rise, will also kill it. I mean that while the game realtime day and night cycles are cool, it can kill the fun for people like me that work a lot and can almost only find time to play past 10PM. So this means that for me, half of the time, everybody in my town is sleeping when I pop the game in! (But hey, there's weekends :D) Overall Animal Crossing is a good addition to any Gamecube's gamer collection since it brings an almost unique kind of gameplay not many games can bring.
