One of the most innovative games in a very long time… Animal Crossing is one of my favorite games so I thought I would write a review of it, sound good. Good! The game starts you out on a train moving away from home into a small town. After a while of sitting on the train a villager named Rover comes by and asks you what your name is and what town you moving too. When you arrive at your town/destination a raccoon named Tom Nook shows you 4 homes in which too move into. All four homes look very similar but have potential, more on that later. After you decide on a home Tom Nook will allow you to move in too your new home with exception of course that you have too pay him the sum of 18,000 bells (the unit of currency in Animal Crossing) A nice feature of Animal Crossing is that you don’t have to pay off the money right away, you can pay it off whenever you like although when you do eventually pay it off Nook will offer to upgrade your house which gives you quite an incentive to do so. Another nice feature is how Animal Crossing uses the GCN’s internal clock in your town. If it’s 6:08 PM where you live its 6:08 PM in your town which gives it a nice sense of realism. Graphics 7: Graphically Animal Crossing is not the best looking game to grace the GCN’s library. AC was originally planned for the N64 hence the N64 like graphics. The graphics in the game are not terrible but really, this is the only weak part of the game. Gameplay 9: Gameplay in AC is pleasantly simple, you run around with the control stick, the A button is action, the shoulder buttons are used for running etc. This makes the perfect pick up and play type of game. One of the best features in Animal Crossing is the fact that you can find and play rare NES games that can be found via codes or action replay. Sound 8: The sound in AC is very easy on the ears several different tunes play through out the day. Some have found the music to be repetitive I did not feel that way at all about the game they are simply fun to listen to. Value 10: Easily the best thing about Animal Crossing is how much stuff there is to do in town. You can write letters, chat with the town folk, collect fossils, art, clothing, furniture, You can also fish and collect different types of bugs and generally work toward paying off your house. Tilt 9: I have had a lot of fun with this game its innovation at it’s finest. I highly recommend this game to any gamer with an open mind
A friend of mine recently found Animal Crossing buried in his bedroom, and he gave it to me because I had bought my GameCube off of him a few years back. I always wanted to try this interesting looking game, and let m... Read Full Review
