This game sums of a lot of my favorites in games and books: Lovecraft and Resident Evil. Simple gameplay and nice story
The gameplay is nice, simple and clean and works fine as there is enough to make variation and a bit of challenge - while it doesn't get in the way of the story.
There are many references in the game if you are into horror stories, which is nice to experience along the way.
The environment is incredibly nice and you get the sense of being in a big world - and though you can actually explore a bit here and there, I had no urge to do so.
On the negative side I could have used more intense climax' in the end of levels. The game game totally lacks end-of-level an game bosses, story-wise it makes sense, but it also makes me feel that something is missing to make it an actual classic.
Good clean horror entertainment, though - we used it for a couple of nights instead of watching a movie.
